Call of Duty: Warzone Developer Responds to Player Video Showing Fence Glitch

While bugs are a common occurrence in Call of Duty: Warzone, having a member of Infinity Ward’s development team respond is less common. Bugs are reported almost daily, as fans find something broken in almost every patch. Meanwhile, Warzone has quickly gained a reputation for constantly being under maintenance, with the development team presumably working hard to repair every problem.

The clip that gained a reply showed evidence of a major fault in Warzone’s fences causing a player to lose a fight. While the problem itself has not been reported that often, it is a glitch that many fans are mildly aware of. Warzone players remain shocked that the problem is still in the game, though the Reddit reply was also somewhat surprising.

The video shows Reddit fan Blaighk in a Warzone Trios match when suddenly they are under fire. Turning towards the damage’s direction, they quickly try to find some cover to defend themselves, only to realize that the enemy fire is coming from a nearby roof. Aiming up they see the assailant drop behind what looks like a tarped wall blocking them from view and gunfire.

Seeing an opening, Blaighk charged, only to be caught off guard by a Molotov that comes speeding from the wall. The killcam reveals that the other player can’t see the fence’s tarp, putting Blaighk at a disadvantage, as their bullets don’t seem to pass through, and they can’t see the enemy.

This glitch has appeared throughout the map, showing one texture on one side and a completely different texture on the other. This would not be a problem if it obscured vision and bullets on both sides, but in its current state, it is about as bad as an invisible wall exploit. Infinity Ward’s Art Director, Joel Emslie, quickly responded with a quick message of “I’m bugging now. Thank you for posting.” These short few words give confirmation to the fan and surprises everyone with an official developer response.

Although he did not provide more details, like a time-frame or reason for the error, he did confirm that he will inform the team. This means that Infinity Ward’s patch team will not only know about the problem, but they will be able to see first hand the severity of the glitch. Fans are expecting the update to be in one of the next future patches.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
