It’s been a very good few weeks for LEGO and Nintendo, as the current collaboration between the two has resulted so far in the very successful launch of the LEGO Super Mario set, and it’s going to get even better for fans with cash to spare. That’s because the other big Nintendo-themed LEGO set, the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, is once again available online.
Safe to say, fans were excited for this set in particular. When the LEGO NES became available at the start of this month, it didn’t take long at all for the initial stock to sell out. It’s no surprise, as all of the bells and whistles the highly-detailed set comes with, including a CRT TV that comes with a scrolling screen depicting World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros, make for quite the collector’s item.
Luckily, the 2,646-piece set is back in stock on the LEGO Store, with plans to extend it to other retailers in 2021. Like before, the LEGO NES costs $229.99, a price that has upset plenty of fans. In all likelihood, though, this fresh stock probably will go just as quickly as the first one did, even with the high price tag, so anyone interested in getting their hands on this cool piece of nostalgia should act fast.
For those who can’t afford it, the aforementioned LEGO Super Mario set is also available. Starting with the $60 Starter Course, fans can add to it with a slew of Mario-themed expansion sets ranging in price from $19.99 to $99.99. Obviously, some of these aren’t that cheap themselves, but they’ll still be less of a strain on fans’ wallets.
