Season 5 of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is coming to an end. Besides the High Society Thief, Loba, Season 5 of the battle royale saw several new limited-time modes (LTM), the introduction of the Quest PvE mode, as well as new items to use in-game like the mobile respawn beacon. However, all good things must come to an end as Season 6 gears up for a huge launch with many new goodies to look forward to.
Season 6 of Apex Legends looks to be one of its most promising seasons yet. The game will see its 14th legend joining the roster with Rampart, the Quick-Witted Modder who brings some heat to the games with her minigun, Sheila. Players can also look forward to a new energy weapon with the Volt SMG, as well as a new crafting system to spice things up in matches.
Respawn Entertainment took to Twitter to let players know when they can expect to play Season 6. According to the tweet, players will be able to hop in with the new season starting at 10 pm PT on August 17th. The tweet also included a trailer with a sneak peek at Rampart’s abilities in action, as well as a tease to a possible new map for Season 7.
While Season 6 will focus heavily on Rampart’s addition to the battle royale, that doesn’t mean that other legends won’t be getting some much-needed attention as well. According to Daniel Klein, Senior Game Designer at Respawn Entertainment, players can expect a buff to Loba in Season 6. This buff will be a minor one as the development team is working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, there are plans for a bigger buff for her Black Market Boutique coming in the future.
Nothing is officially known about what type of limited-time modes could be seen in Apex Legends‘ sixth season, however that hasn’t stopped the community from speculating. Recently, an artist for the game shared an image that seemed to leak a compound bow coming to Apex Legends. Reliable dataminers and leakers for the game believe that the bow could be added as part of an LTM during the season.
Season 6 looks to be the game’s most exciting season yet. As with previous seasons of Apex Legends, players will be able to purchase a progression-based battle pass with tons of new cosmetics like gun charms, weapon skins, and legend skins. Thankfully, players won’t have to wait too long before they can hop in on the action.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Switch and mobile versions coming later this year.
