Mods have a way of making our favorite games even better by adding new features, enhancing graphics, and bringing in characters that have no business being there. This is the case with a recent mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which replaces Geralt of Rivia with Guts from Berserk.
Guts, also known as the Black Swordsman, is the main protagonist of the ultra-mature Berserk manga series that began in the ’80s and is still going strong to this day. Its pages are absolutely loaded with sword-swinging fantasy violence, making it a perfect candidate to be modded into The Witcher 3. Reddit user u/AssassinLord444 modded Guts into the game and posted the results to the forum, where he can be seen swinging Guts’ signature giant sword. Unfortunately, his arm cannon didn’t make it into the mod, but maybe one day in the future.
This is but one among many, many mods available for The Witcher 3. There’s everything from a mod that allows players to play in first-person, seeing through the eyes of Geralt, to one that adds a shield with its own mechanics. Players looking for more adventure can download a mod that adds an entirely new area of the game. There is even a mod that adds the likenesses of actors Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra from the Netflix series to their respective roles in the game. There is a lot to choose from, but these are some of the best mods for The Witcher 3.
Those new to the series will enjoy every second of it. They can even jump right into the third installment with little trouble catching up in the story and the game helps take care of any player choices made in previous titles. The expansions are also definitely worth picking up. Players get a lot of content for their money and the stories contained within are deep and interesting. Soon enough, newcomers will be laughing along with all of the wonderfully hilarious Witcher 3 memes out there.
The game is also very replayable, especially since there are multiple romance options for Geralt to pursue, with even more added in the expansions. In fact, there are enough that it may be hard for players to choose who to sweep off their feet. To make things easier, start your Witcher 3 romance with your MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and choose a mate based on personality.
