Another tape has appeared as fans enter Day 5 of the Call of Duty 2020 puzzles. These tapes provide a small glimpse into a different time, presumably taking fans back to the era of the upcoming game. Putting Call of Duty 20202 into a historical context is a powerful tool that might pay off with the final reveal teaser trailer.
Fans get ever closer to solving the plethora of puzzles and ciphers but some players are tired of the investigation. The length of time is ending on fan’s patience, while others love the long invested puzzle hunt. No matter which case, Activision is going forward with one more day of excitement planned in this long teaser adventure.
The video starts with Mardi Gras being canceled due to a police strike and quickly shifts its focus to a nuclear accident. After the plant stabilized, new US safety units entered the site to ensure the safety of civilians nearby. It then shifts again, as it does multiple times, to British news keeping an eye on what is happening overseas. The nuclear event triggers protests against nuclear power, meanwhile, in Britain, the Iron Lady officially gains office. There is a wide array of destruction, political unknowns, and random stock footage mixed among the video making today’s tape the most jumbled of any thus far.
There was a large segment near the end that discussed misinformation, biased reporting, and the validity of truth. This segment almost goes far enough to push fans to question everything they have seen so far in the Call of Duty tapes.
As with the previous releases, all the version numbers on the other tapes continue to rise suggesting small changes in every version. Fans are going to have to go back and regather numbers and information from the previous tapes resulting in a long and tiresome chore.
As Carter’s term came to an end, Regan worked to end the Cold War stance that America was still holding. The end of the tape looks into his original intention to run for office and mixes it with footage from the Iron Lady and revolutionary changes happening in Britain.
The amount of death, bloodshed, and violence outside of war displayed in this video are disturbing enough. The way the violence is displayed, Ronald Reagan seems almost like a saving grace for the American people. The entire experience paints a strange picture for Call of Duty 2020.
