Announced at the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Raji: An Ancient Epic, is not only a timed exclusive, but also releases today on the Nintendo Switch. The game joins the likes of several indie games releasing for the Switch during the summer.
Raji: An Ancient Epic is an action adventure game where players control Raji, a young girl who is chosen by the gods to fight off a demon invasion and rescue her younger brother. Set in Ancient India, Raji must save the human realm from demon lord Mahabalasura,
The story of Raji: An Ancient Epic starts off at the cusp of a war where demons are driving humanity to the threat of extinction. The demons intend on ending a thousand years of peace that humanity has enjoyed, making them complacent and forgetting the ways of alchemy. Raji possesses powers and weapons gifted to her by the gods. Players will have to solve puzzles and battle hords of enemies, with the occasional boss battle thrown in.
The Nintendo Indie World Showcase focused on indie titles from smaller teams hitting the console, with many being timed exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, Along with the third party showcase earlier in the summer, Nintendo has opted for these smaller presentations giving time to games that may not have as much focus in an E3 style presentation, including the announcement of Shin Megami Tensei 3 HD and Shin Megami Tensei 5.
Meanwhile Nintendo, facing setbacks due to Covid-19, is still rumored to have a Nintendo Direct later this month where the company could be showcasing new and upcoming first party titles yet to be revealed.
Raji: An Ancient Epic is available now on the Nintendo Switch.
