Yesterday, scans of V-Jump magazine appeared online, confirming that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot would be including Super Saiyan God Goku and Vegeta, as well as two new moves. Many found this reveal to be a bit lackluster, as it’s obviously the next step after Super Saiyan God, and key information like the boss battle enemy and the release date were, once again, passed up.
However, reading the translation of the V-Jump magazine has now seemingly leaked who the Boss Battle enemy will be ahead of time. The scans show Goku and Vegeta in combat against 12/50 enemies at level 250. This fight doesn’t take place in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot‘s base game, basically validating that this fight is in the DLC, and the the translation reveals this enemies are Frieza’s soldiers, as revealed by YouTuber Dm Gaming 5 (seen below). In other words, this can only mean that Golden Frieza is the second boss battle DLC.
Notably, there could be something missing at play, but this changes a lot of speculation that has surrounded the game. For example, many believed that Golden Frieza would be skipped because he wasn’t in the manga. This was seemingly supported by the DLC 3 leak which seemingly included the Future Trunks DBS arc, as it would mean that Hit would be the boss battle in this DLC. Now, with Golden Frieza all but officially announced as the next boss battle, it means that either Hit is getting skipped or the Future Trunks arc leak was false.
In regards to the leak, it came from a UK retailer with a very specific name (that alluded to the arc), and so it seems unlikely to be a slight mishap. Based on this alone, it’s not impossible that Hit is somehow skipped, as the Universe 6 story arc doesn’t really make sense, even as a “Additional Scenario.” That is, unless Bandai Namco’s add-on arc is just the fight through the tournament, which again, doesn’t really seem like it could stretch to the 8-12 hour count for the third DLC.
Golden Frieza’s inclusion here means a lot of things and may seemingly change the nature of speculation around the title. The questions of what about Hit and what about Future Trunks may be more prominent than ever, but many will just be happy with Golden Frieza’s inclusion nonetheless.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
