Rocket League Player Remaking Fall Guys Level in Game | Game Rant

Fall Guys’ release on PS Plus is starting to share some striking similarities with another massively successful PlayStation Plus release of the past: Rocket League. In fact, members of the Mediatonic development team behind Fall Guys hoped to recreate Rocket League’s success on PS Plus.

With enough continued support and polish, Fall Guys is well on its way to being a success story just like Rocket League continues to be. Now, it seems one Rocket League player is showing some extreme love for Fall Guys by expertly recreating the fan-favorite Slime Climb minigame using Rocket League’s custom maps.

As many PlayStation fans know, Rocket League was a massive success while it was available as a free PS Plus title in 2016. Reports from early 2017 by PlayStation revealed that Rocket League was the most downloaded PS4 title of 2016, beating out the likes of huge triple-a titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield. Now, Fall Guys seems to be on track to recreate that same success. Players from all over the place are hoping on the game’s hype train and enjoying the wacky battle royale.

Fall Guys continues to dominate the gaming conversation on social media, with players discussing the best minigames or costumes. Capitalizing on the Fall Guys craze, Professional Rocket League player and content creator Lethamyr has released an incredible video showcasing an amazing recreation of Slime Climb built in Rocket League’s engine as a course in the game. The map is scaled up to better fit in with Rocket League’s unique style of movement and traversal, but the core elements of the map remain in Lethamyr’s recreation. Apparently, Lethamyr spent the majority of a recent live stream building the map with input from his chat.

While the map is still missing some features, like moving obstacles and spinning hammers, the map is a near-perfect recreation of the Slime Climb course. Rocket League players on PC are able to download and play custom maps made by community members, and Lethamyr’s Slime Climb map is built the same way. The modding community for Rocket League is pretty expansive, with plenty of players creating amazing custom maps or modes. With Rocket League going free-to-play soon, that player base is only going to get bigger.

With Fall Guys’ current track record of partnering up with popular game franchises and IPs, there is still a good chance that a possible Rocket League collab could show up in the game’s future. Considering Mediatonic specifically cited Rocket League as an inspiration, it would not come as a surprise. Fall Guys sold over 2 million copies on Steam in it’s first few days of release, so surely the game has caught the eye of the developers at Psyonix.

Rocket League is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
