Good news for Destiny 2 players grinding through this year’s Solstice of Heroes event. Bungie has released a new patch today that addresses the bug that drove it to disable one of Destiny 2‘s weekly Solstice challenges, reinstating that challenge in the process.
As in previous years, the latest Solstice has been offering players new challenges to take on and new armor to upgrade while they go. So far, though, there have been a few issues with Solstice of Heroes that have disappointed players, the most problematic being that one of the weekly challenges in the European Aerial Zone was bugged. Before it was disabled by Bungie, the event wasn’t giving out Powerful gear at the end like it should, leaving players without their high-tier rewards.
Luckily, today’s patch, Hotfix 2.9.1.3, has corrected the problem, so now players are now able to take on the challenge once more and start earning Powerful gear every week. For players who’ve yet to reach Destiny 2’s current soft Power level cap of 1,050, this will go a long way towards completing the climb.
That may be the biggest fix the patch introduces for Solstice of Heroes, but it’s not the only one. Additionally, Bungie has addressed a bug that was preventing players from receiving Bright Dust for completing the event’s weekly and repeatable bounties. The Hotfix also addresses a non-Solstice issue that was causing the Season of Arrivals quest “Means to an End” to disappear from players’ inventories at random. Bungie notes, though, that players will need to reacquire it following the next weekly reset.
While these bugs and the weekly challenge’s brief absence have been an annoyance for players this week, they have thankfully not prevented players from Solstice of Heroes’ primary goal of earning and upgrading their Solstice armor. On top of that, some have been able to use bugs to their advantage, as a glitch discovered in the game this week makes it incredibly easy to complete Destiny 2’s Adventures for the event.
The Solstice of Heroes event is slated to wrap up on September 8, which should give players more than enough time to make up for the weekly EAZ challenge’s time off. That being said, some have speculated about the possibility of the event being extended to make up for the weekly challenge’s delay, though Bungie has yet to say anything about that. Odds are the event will wrap up on the current date, meaning players will likely have to focus on other challenges while they wait for the release of Destiny 2’s next expansion, Beyond Light, in November.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
