Fortnite is continuing its popular weekly challenges despite Epic Games engaging in lawsuits at the moment. The title is still expanding its list of activities to create an experience that breaks the mold of a conventional battle royale gameplay. Fortnite has done this through updates that have introduced new elements such as cars, crossover events, and concerts. The most recent addition to the game is a challenge that requires players to catch fireflies.
This “Collect Fireflies from Weeping Woods” challenge comes in the wake of water-themed challenges that have been in Fortnite. With the introduction of cars and the disappearance of some water, challenges have had new focuses. The cars will enable players to get specific areas quicker, but when undertaking this challenge players will need to be careful of their surroundings so that they can avoid an early elimination. To begin with, players should aim to land close to the Weeping Woods.
Once players land by the woods they will need to begin searching for the fireflies. Typically fireflies surround campfires and players should investigate these areas if they are struggling to find the creatures. The fireflies are relatively large and should not be too much of a challenge to spot, once players do begin finding them they need to collect five. Once this has been done in Fortnite, the fireflies will be contained in the aptly named Firefly Jars. However, players should be careful not to throw the jars as they will cause a fire and could lead to an accidental fatality.
The challenges in Fortnite appear to be keeping fans entertained as they wait for bigger changes to appear on the map. There are already rumors that a new Fortnite season will have Marvel skins and there will likely be a series of challenges to accompany these additions. The team behind Fortnite has plenty of ideas on how to keep players engaged and returning to the game. With that in mind, it is no wonder that the game is one of the most popular in the battle royale genre.
There is a lot to do and uncover in Fortnite and while there is some heavy legal drama around the mobile iteration of the game, it seems that the development team is focused on delivering an enjoyable experience. Many will hope this continues with more challenges and features coming in the future. In the meantime, fans can complete the “Collect Fireflies from Weeping Woods” challenge.
Fortnite is available now on mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
