NoahJ456 Explains How the COD Community Solved the Black Ops Cold War Mystery

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal has been a challenging and exciting puzzle for both big-name streamers and amateur gamers. Popular YouTube gamer NoahJ456 helped solve the crate puzzle and released a video explaining the process, and now he’s released a new video revealing how the COD community discovered the trailer for Black Ops Cold War.

Dedicated fans have been hunting for the newest Call of Duty trailer for weeks, and each new hint has brought the community one step closer to finding the elusive video. NoahJ has been one of the most dogged searchers and was the one who discovered the teaser site for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, although his hard work has been done alongside a ton of passionate fans digging through the various clues, encrypted messages, and historical facts referenced by Treyarch.

Things truly kicked off when NoahJ received a black slide projector that contained images of a mini-map from Black Ops 4: Summit. He and other members of his team then went into Black Ops 4 and overlaid the images, while adjusting for color and altitude. Two phrases from the initial reveal, “turn eleven white” and “Bish You Were Here,” that second phrase referring to a famous chess match during the Cold War where the American Robert Fischer triumphed over his Soviet opponent. In that match, “turn eleven white” was a move where a pawn took a pawn, leading to NoahJ finding the website “pawntakespawn.”

The team then used parts of ciphers and tapes filled with numbers that they’d been receiving for six days. Solving the numbered ciphers in Photoshop grids led to a phone number that they could call to get a code. Using that with another Black Ops Cold War Easter egg, The Eleventh Hour, they overlaid the times with the codes to get the phrase “A cold war isn’t fought on a battlefield the time bomb is ticking with every second.” This led them to pawntakespawn.com/playthegamefindthetruth, where the Black Ops Cold War reveal trailer was posted.

NoahJ thanked the team that helped him with the “week’s worth of work” put in to uncover the trailer, as well as everyone who watched his streams. Despite NoahJ’s time with 100 Thieves, the YouTuber still made sure to put in the time and effort needed to uncover these complex secrets.

Now that the trailer’s been uncovered, all fans have to do is wait for the game’s worldwide official reveal in-game in Verdansk on August 26. All these codes, historical references, and encryptions have been a great way for fans to get hyped for a game set during the Cold War itself.
