Total War Three Kingdoms The Furious Wild Expansion Launches in September

Developer Creative Assembly has announced the first map extension for its strategy title Total War: Three Kingdoms. Slated for release on September 3, 2020, The Furious Wild DLC will take players on an adventure into the jungles of southern China and introduce the Nanman warrior culture.

The goal for explorers of The Furious Wild will be to unite the tribes of this new territory, either through diplomacy or conquest. Players will have the option to begin their journey in both 190 CE and 194 CE.

Besides adding an entirely unexplored region to Total War: Three Kingdoms, the expansion pack will add a number of other features, including four new playable factions, each sporting its own unique gameplay mechanics, and 15 non-playable new factions.

To introduce players to the Nanman culture, The Furious Wild will feature new missions and narrative events that highlight important aspects of these warring tribes. Adventurers in the Three Kingdoms will be able to explore and conquer China’s southern jungles using 25 new units such as spearmen, warriors with flaming maces, and even elephants and tigers. Additionally, The Furious Wild will include a new character progression system, as well as a Nanman-specific technology tree that requires missions to be completed.

Set in third-century China, Total War: Three Kingdoms is the 13th title in the Total War series and combines turn-based strategy with real-time tactics. The Furious Wild expansion pack will initially only be available on PC for $18.99, although Creative Assembly has stated that information about Mac OS and Linux versions will be forthcoming.

Total War: Three Kingdoms was released in May 2019 and is available on Mac, PC, and Linux.
