Fortnite is about to get another major crossover with Marvel. Earlier today, Epic Games confirmed a new Marvel and Fortnite crossover event.
Now, it seems like players are already getting a rough idea of what the crossover event might bring in the way of cosmetic items. Reliable Fortnite leakers are detailing what kind of skins players can look forward to with the Marvel event, including cosmetics relating to Groot, Wolverine, Thor, and a few others.
This Fortnite and Marvel crossover event has been the subject of rumors and leaks since the beginning of August. Fortnite leaker HypeX on Twitter was putting pieces together of the new Fortnite Marvel crossover event with other members of the Fortnite community as early as August 6. Now, it seems those leaks have been officially confirmed by Fortnite and Epic Games themselves. It seems like Thor will play a big role in this crossover event, so players can look forward to some sort event surrounding the God of Thunder himself.
However, it seems like Thor won’t be the only other Marvel character getting some love during this crossover event. HypeX has leaked further details about the event on Twitter, claiming that a source has told them that there will be a point of interest on the map relating to Thor. HypeX also claimed there will be a Wolverine Skin, a Peely Wolverine skin, and comic book pages to be collected around the map. If those claims area to be believed, this Marvel event may be a bit more involved than the Thanos Infinity Gauntlet Mode from 2018.
The comic book pages are important to note, as it seems this Marvel crossover event will focus on comic book renditions of characters and not movie ones. Previous Marvel crossover events have focused on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it seems this next event will focus much more on Marvel’s comic book branch of media. Now, it’s important to note that the details surrounding Season 4’s Marvel themed Fortnite content have not been officially confirmed, but HypeX has a gotten plenty of leaked information right in the past.
For now, Fortnite fans can at the very least expect some form of Marvel comic book content to be prevalent as the game marches on to Season 4. Epic Games looks to have its hands full right now, with Fortnite getting a major new crossover event while dealing with an ongoing legal feud with Apple. For those who haven’t heard, Apple recently retaliated Epic Games lawsuit that spawned when Epic added the option to purchase V-Bucks directly from Epic to circumvent Apple’s 30 percent fee on the app store. Regardless, Fortnite’s upcoming Marvel content is sure to be a bright spot for fans of the game.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices, with PS5 and Xbox Series X support planned.
