Subject 2923 is the second DLC for Remnant: From the Ashes, the Souls-like co-op shooter from Gunfire Games. The DLC reveals the secrets behind the Dreamer program, and its connection to the Root. Taking place after the main story of Remnant: From the Ashes, Subject 2923 takes players to new locations across the game’s world.
One of these locations is Ward Prime, a US military facility based around the mysterious World Stone. The facility was integral to the Dreamer program, and players will need to delve deep to discover its secrets. This isn’t an easy task, as the facility has no power when the protagonist arrives. On the top-floor of Ward Prime, there’s a room with a breaker box. The box is missing a fuse, which is the key to getting the power back on in the facility. Unfortunately, the fuse is all the way down on the bottom floor, in the Laboratory section. In the lab, players should lookout for a room with three Nexus Hearts to destroy.
The Ward Prime fuse is a random spawn, and can be in one of three rooms from here. To begin searching, interact with the Nexus Crystal to enter the Root World, then destroy all three Root Hearts. Unfortunately, each time a Heart is destroyed the player will be sent back to the normal world, meaning they’ll need to run back and forth multiple times.
Once the three Root Hearts have been destroyed, players will be able to find the Ward Prime Fuse in one of the Dreamer Laboratory rooms. It will have a red light to indicate its position, and can often be found beside a Tome of Knowledge. Once they’ve got the fuse, players will be able to head upstairs once again.
Back on the main floor, where the entrance to Ward Prime is, simply head to the power room. Find the breaker box with the missing fuse, insert it, and restore power. Once power is back online players will be able to access all the computer terminals in Ward Prime, including the one that unlocks the Machine Pistol. The next step in the story is to head to Dr. Enji Sato’s office, where another puzzle is waiting to be solved.
