Call of Duty: Warzone has been giving players a way to fill their time while they wait for the full reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War next week. Better yet, Infinity Ward has confirmed that many of the bugs that have been frustrating them are set to be fixed in upcoming updates.
When a game as big as Warzone is updated as frequently as Warzone is, bugs are inevitable, and that’s been especially true in Season 5. The last couple of weeks have seen players reporting a wide variety of glitches, such as textures turning into large masses of chaotic spikes, players being able to attack others from underneath the map, weapon attachments that are wildly unbalanced, and a range of other glitches that break Warzone in different ways.
Luckily, Infinity Ward has recently updated its Trello board to confirm that several glitches will soon be patched out of the game. Perhaps the biggest fix coming soon is one that will address Warzone’s infamous parachute glitch, which can cause the parachute-deploying animation to trigger when players step off small ledges, leaving them vulnerable to enemy attacks. Players have been reporting this bug since the game launched in March, so it’s good to know that it’ll finally be gone soon.
The Trello board also confirms that a future update will fix a Season 5 bug that’s preventing players’ UIs from showing when they have a self-revive or prompting them to use it when downed, effectively breaking self-revives. Additionally, a fix is coming for an issue that has been causing Quad teams to show up incorrectly on the mini-map when taking on the Most Wanted contract.
A few of the other issues being fixed soon include:
- Players have reported seeing Tracker footprints on the ground after respawning, even when they don’t have the perk equipped.
- Players in the live environment have reported multiple issues with rank and Battle pass progress, as well as not getting credit for missions and challenges.
- The tracers lose their impact VFX when the ammunition is changed from the default 5.56 NATO ammunition on the M4.
- Season 5 Week 1 challenge reads: “Call in the Personal UAV Killstreak 7 Times.” Should be written as Personal Radar.
- Yellow highlighting of your name in the Squad widget is missing in BR Buy Back.
- Getting a kill with a flaming throwing knife does not reset the duration of the Dead Silence perk.
Unfortunately, there’s no ETA for when these fixes will be added to Call of Duty: Warzone, but given that they sound ready to go, it’s very well possible that at least some of these could come as soon as this Tuesday, August 25, since Tuesdays tend to be when key updates are released for the game.
Call of Duty: Warzone is free-to-play for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
