Battletoads: How to Keep Champion’s Weapon Stuck | Game Rant

Rare and Dlala Studios’ Battletoads is a game with gameplay that can prove difficult for newer players to the franchise. Whether it’s the game’s infamous turbo bike sections, where Battletoads players have already wrecked over 10 million turbo bikes or the vicious character brawler sections, some players could use some pointers on how to survive. Players wanting to give themselves an edge in the boss fight with Axeley in Act 2 will only need to learn one little secret that will also net them an achievement in the process.

Battletoads is one of many strong titles that have come to Xbox Game Pass recently. Xbox’s premium subscription service seems to only be getting sweeter as titles like Microsoft Flight SimulatorNew Super Lucky’s Tale, and Hypnospace Outlaw have recently been added or will be added in the coming weeks. These major additions seem to lend themselves to the idea that Xbox Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming right now.

The fight with Axeley near the end of Act 2 in Battletoads can certainly be tough, however, there is one way to make this brawl a little easier. Whenever Axeley finishes his series of ground pound attacks, his axe will be stuck in the floorboards. While players’ first instinct will be to run to the lumberjack champion and beat the snot out of him, players can lock him in place for longer by using the spit attack — holding down the left trigger and pressing A. Not only will this allow players to get some extra hits in, but it will unlock the “Take This, Axeman!” achievement for a cool 5 gamerscore.

Battletoads has seen quite a bit of success since it released this past week. While some have been concerned about what a new Battletoads game could look like in 2020 after the last game released 26 years ago, the newest Battletoads reviews indicate it nails a plethora of genres and is genuinely a hilarious time. Add in the fact that the game is available on Xbox Game Pass and it’s easy to see why the game is a smashing success.

The toads have seen references and crossovers quite frequently during those 26 years off, however. Rash donned his classic sunglasses and joined the fray in Rare’s Killer Instinct 5 years ago and can be found as an oversized action figure in Obsidian Entertainment’s Grounded. Seafarers in Sea of Thieves can also earn the Fightin’ Frogs ship set by completing Act 1 of Battletoads. It certainly seems like the toads are here to stay after this game’s success.

Battletoads is available now on PC and Xbox One.
