The Bill and Ted films from the late ’80s and early ’90s became cult classics over time. Many fans were ecstatic to know that Bill and Ted Face the Music was revealed. The film starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter looks to be a callback movie from the era of the original two films.
Along with Bill and Ted Face the Music coming out soon, there are strange things are afoot in the universe of Bill and Ted. An online game has appeared online to promote the movie. Released with little fanfare initially and as a surprise, the mobile-friendly and desktop game Bill and Ted Face the Music: Time Shred is out now.
The web-based game is simplistic but fun. Players are simply tasked with moving the phone booth through the Circuits of Time, using the arrow keys to move back and forth. There are objects that need to be avoided and highscores that can be had. The flash-like game probably won’t answer some of Bill and Ted‘s biggest questions that the movie hopefully will, but as a fun little time-waster, it seems to be excellent.
This of course isn’t the first time the stars of the film are in a video game, with Keanu Reeves being in Cyberpunk 2077 as Johnny Silverhand being the most notable. There was also an old NES title called Bill & Ted’s Excellent Video Game Adventure that has become a bit of a cult classic in its own right, just like the films it was inspired by.
