Amid the exciting Black Ops Cold War reveal and standard details about various bugs, Call of Duty fans looking for nonstandard but nonetheless impressive topics about their favorite game can watch a certain viral TikTok video. A young fan of the franchise has racked up a ton of views for imitating gun noises that sound like they came from the game itself.
The Call of Duty community has some talented fans, and they’ve shown off their skills with creations like fanart for Call of Duty Zombies and video edits of funny in-game moments. The game has a lot of passionate people involved, and most people who’ve been involved in the online community have seen a lot of awesome fan creations. One thing that hasn’t been seen before, however, is gamerkidd111’s scarily accurate gun noise impressions of the RPG, MP5, and other weapons.
The Call of Duty games have a ton of interesting details that fans love to hunt down and praise, and one of them is the realistic and unique weapon sounds for each gun. The developers could’ve skimped on this and offered a one-size-fits-all “gun noise” to different classes of weapon, but it went above and beyond in giving firearms distinct sounds, even for situations like bullet casings hitting the ground or the gun being shot. This young TikTok user didn’t just notice these intricate details, he recreated them almost perfectly with his mouth.
One of gamerkidd111’s short videos shows his friend naming different Call of Duty weapons, which the talented fan then imitates while pantomiming the guns. He’s even got the sounds of metal bullet casings, which is a unique sound that only a skilled ear and voice would be able to pick apart and copy. The video has since gone viral and racked up over 13 million views on TikTok, which is impressive for any platform. The video can be seen in its entirety on Gamerkidd111’s channel.
The video creator has clearly spent a lot of time playing Call of Duty and picking up the sounds, although even the most dedicated players probably wouldn’t be able to get this accurate. Of course, there’s always the possibility that gamerkidd111 was simply miming along to recordings, as some comments that don’t believe anyone can be this hyper-realistic have pointed out. But this is the Call of Duty fandom we’re talking about, where fans found the Call of Duty 2020 trailer by spending hours and hours poring over the games.
Whether or not this TikToker is the real deal, it’s cool to see fans showing off their talent and bringing unique creations to the community. And it’s great to see lots of fans talking about something in Call of Duty besides game breaking glitches.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
