Jim Lee Shares Incredible Gotham Knights Artwork | Game Rant

Jim Lee is a legend when it comes to his work in comic books, being behind some of the most impressive artwork to ever have been featured in the medium. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily stop at comic books, as the artist has shared an incredible piece he created for Warner Bros. Montreal’s upcoming Gotham Knights, along with a colored version by Alex Sinclair.

The artwork features Gotham Knights’ four playable heroes, Batwoman, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin, all lined up together, ready to attack. The comic book art influence here is clear, but seeing the Bat-family ready to fight side-by-side is the clear centerpiece, and an impressive one at that. It’s well detailed overall and features sharp-looking suits for the heroes, two of the most important factors for comic book art.

The Gotham Knights reveal itself has been met with mixed feedback. Fans seem to be split over the direction that the studio is taking the game, some believing that a Batman game without Batman isn’t what fans have been asking for, while others are excited to step into the shoes of Bruce’s various sidekicks. The game doesn’t release until next year, so there’s still plenty of time for WB Montreal to make changes for fans.

The detail going into the characters is absolutely clear. In the artwork, CGI trailer, and Gotham Knights’ gameplay reveal, the characters move and flow naturally, complimented by their suits. One interesting aspect is Robin wearing his Red Robin outfit, implying that fans may be able to swap out gear, or at the very least, change skins.

DC’s other reveal of the day Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueoffered far fewer details, with fans only seeing a cinematic trailer and a brief Q&A segment, which didn’t reveal much about the upcoming title. With both games being so far off, it’ll be some time before DC fans have games to play, but one can hope that the wait is worth it.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of other DC stuff to catch up on. With the Court of Owls being featured in Gotham Knights, new movies on the way, and some new comic books, there’s plenty to look forward to, and those looking for more background knowledge on heroes, villains, and other Jim Lee artwork have a decades-long backlog of content to pull from. The only restriction is how deep fans want to dive into the DC universe.

Gotham Knights is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
