Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Is Heavily Discounted For PC

Just last year, EA and Respawn Entertainment released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is a single-player narrative-based game that revolves around the story of Cal Kestis who is on the run from The Empire after the fall of the Jedi Order. Shortly after the game’s release, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order became a critical and commercial success, and just last May, the game was able to achieve an impressive milestone for both EA and Respawn Entertainment.

Now, players who still haven’t explored Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be happy to know that the game is heavily discounted on Steam. Players on the PC can purchase the game for $29.99, which is 50% off its original price of $59.99. Of course, Steam’s deal is definitely worth checking out especially to those who have been holding off purchase of the game given that it is currently one of the cheapest prices out there for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

After Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order critical and commercial success, Disney, who owns the rights to the Star Wars franchise, revealed that it will now be seeking more partnerships with video game developers in the future. Speaking at the 2020 DICE Summit, Disney’s Senior VP for games and interactive experiences Sean Shoptaw reiterated the company’s intention of licensing IPs and establishing more partnerships with third-party game developers and publishers given that the company sees it as the most profitable approach.

Moreover, EA also revealed that the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order exceeded its sales expectations. Back in May, EA announced that Fallen Order will be the first game in a new franchise, confirming that a sequel will be developed in the future. At the moment, it is still unclear whether EA plans to develop multiple games for the new franchise, but this wouldn’t be unlikely if the still unannounced sequel will receive the same levels of success as Fallen Order.

Although EA and Respawn Entertainment have since been quiet about anything related to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, fans have been eagerly anticipating the official announcement of the follow-up game. Last December, rumors about the sequel skyrocketed on the online after a job listing was posted by EA. The listing looked for an experienced software engineer to join the Star Wars team in Los Angeles, and although Respawn was not mentioned by name, many believe that EA is starting to form a team to work on the game.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One with a release for Google Stadia planned later this year.
