A new DLC for the action roguelike Children of Morta has just been released, with 100% of the developer’s and publisher’s profits going to charity. Titled Paws and Claws, this DLC, which releases a month after a new character update, adds a new animal shelter system to the game which rewards players for taking care of animals.
In Children of Morta, the Bergsons are beacons of hope to not just the people of Rea, but also its animals. In order to better protect the innocent creatures of Rea, the Paws and Claws DLC will allow the Bergsons to add a new section to their home dedicated to caring for these creatures. Helping out these animals means the family will have to take on new responsibilities in their daily routines, but providing for the creatures can provide benefits that can help the family in the field, such as boosts to gaining experience or movement speed. The most important part of this DLC, separate from the update roadmap the team has for the game, is that all of the proceeds 11 bit studios and Dead Mage receive from this DLC will be donated to charity in the form of the Humane Society International.
This new DLC is releasing alongside a free update titled A Treasure! This free update provides over two dozen new divine graces, consumables, and divine relics for the family to use in their fight against the Corruption. The Paws and Claws DLC and A Treasure! both come a couple of after their Setting Sun Inn update.
Paws and Claws is available as a DLC for Children of Morta for $4 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Xbox One.
