Pokemon Dev Wants Fans’ Input on Future Games | Game Rant

Pokemon is a series of gaming that is always evolving in the way that it shows off the world it creates. New features are being introduced as generations progress like allowing Pokemon to Gigantamax or Mega Evolve. However, one of the devs is reaching out to fans for feedback as Nintendo looks ahead to the next game in the series.

While it’s impossible to please any fans when creating a new game, the Pokemon franchise received a lot of backlash when its most recent games were released. Pokemon Sword and Shield included a lot of new elements that hadn’t been seen before in the series, but the games also left out Pokemon from previous generations, forcing fans to buy the DLCs if they wanted to have some old classics in the newest region. This choice and others have given some fans a less than ideal perception of this game, but one Pokemon dev wants to get feedback from players so he can implement changes for the next games.

David Gibson, the user interface (UI) designer for the Pokemon game series, reached out to fans via Twitter on August 22. His initial post asked fans about UI or user experience (UX) issues they had previously come across when playing the previous games, asking for fans to give him feedback that he could use going forward with the next installments of the series. Gibson says that the franchise wants the next game to have a “top end experience” and that fans’ feedback for this would be “invaluable.” Many fans took him up on this and began sending him their thoughts on this aspect of the games.

While the original post asking for feedback was made unavailable, Gibson once again took to Twitter to thank Pokemon fans for their feedback and support. He currently asks that fans refrain from sending more feedback, as he has plenty of data to sort through at this time. However, Gibson is letting fans know that grateful for the players who brought UI and UX issues and that he will do his best to look into these concerns in the future.

The next installment in the iconic game series won’t be coming out for some time, but fans can look forward to the Crown Tundra DLC that is coming out for Pokemon Sword and Shield. Maybe some of the fixes mentioned in the Twitter thread will appear in this added content.
