Though the COVID-19 pandemic has forced theme parks to remain closed, the real tragedy is the closer we get to Halloween the more likely it is that all Halloween celebrations will be cancelled as well. However Netflix, Fever, and Secret Cinema have teamed up to deliver a spooky Stranger Things themed immersive experience.
Throughout this October in Downtown Los Angeles, the Stranger Things Drive-Into experience will transport attendees to 1980’s Hawkins, Indiana where according to the press release ,”you’ll dive into and explore a living, breathing story to savor some of the best moments from the Netflix series and maybe even witness some unforeseen and unusual occurrences.”
What Stranger Things fans can expect is to drive through recreated locations from the Netflix series like the Starcourt Mall, the Russian labs and of course the dark dimension of the Upside Down. Each experience will last over 60 minutes and will cost from $59 per car with further packages for fans to be announced.
This isn’t the only good news for fans of Netflix’s nostalgia drenched spooky show; the Duffer brothers have confirmed that Stranger Things 4 won’t be the last. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Ross Duffer said “season four won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”
In any case, the current pandemic has delayed production on Stranger Things 4 for the time being so fans of the show will have to wait longer for the adventures of Mike, Elle, Steve, et al. But with this new COVID-19 conscious approach to theme park Halloween Horror Houses, fans can fully immerse themselves in the world of their favorite show.
Bookings will open on Aug 26th and the Stranger Things Drive-Into Experience will run in Downtown Los Angeles in October.
