It looks like players hoping to migrate their Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War copy to next-gen consoles will have to shell out a bit extra.
As part of today’s big Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leak – which originates from the new Warzone patch – three different editions for the game have been unearthed.
The details were uncovered by COD Tracker, and leaker @BKTOOR who dug up various in-game hooks and some images relating to all three of them. The thinking is that following tomorrow’s Black Ops Cold War reveal, all three will go live for players to pre-order them.
They are the Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Bundle, and the Ultimate Edition. No prices for any of them have been revealed, but the existence of a cross-gen edition implies that Activision won’t be offering players free upgrades to PS5 and Xbox Series X. The publisher has yet to officially reveal any of those details, of course.

Pre-ordering any of the three version grants early access to the open beta – which does not have a date, as well as immediate unlock of Frank Woods for use in Warzone and Modern Warfare. Wood’s voice lines were datamined weeks ago, so that part was expected.
Woods comes with a unique assault rifle blueprint, also for use in Warzone and Modern Warfare. Outside of that, pre-ordering also grants you ten tier skips in the Battle Pass. All of these bonuses are under the Confrontation Weapons Pack banner.

The Standard Edition includes the full game, and the Confrontation Weapons Pack when pre-ordered. The Ultimate Edition also comes with the full game, next-gen upgrades (Cross-Gen Bundle), as well as another pack dubbed Land, Sea and Air. This one includes three operator skins, three vehicle skins, and three weapon blueprints.
It’s worth keeping in mind that the Cross-Gen Bundle may simply be an add-on players could purchase separately any time, but right now, it’s only showing up as part of the Ultimate Edition.
If you’re looking to spend even more, you’ll also find a Battle Pass bundle that includes the base game with one season Battle Pass, as well as 20 tier skips. This is similar to what you could buy right now for Modern Warfare.
In case you missed it, the full description for Black Ops Cold War was dug up as part of the same leak. The synopsis confirms the return of Woods, Mason and Hudson and that the game is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops.
