At the moment, glitches and bugs in Fortnite are probably the least of Epic Games’ problems. The company is still in the midst of some nasty lawsuits against Google and Apple, with Epic even openly mocking the latter with its #FreeFortnite hashtag and recent #FreeFortnite Cup event.
However, while it may not be a top priority, this newest bug is something that Epic may want to deal with sooner rather than later, especially with the Marvel-themed Season 4 starting in a couple of days.
In Fortnite, building structures is one of its most distinct features and is practically essential if players want to play defensively, be it by making a simple wall to hide behind or an entire building to use as a vantage point. However, players have discovered this new exploit that allows them to build things through walls, essentially allowing them to create big structures without needing to leave the building and become exposed to enemy fire.
One player on Reddit demonstrated how to pull this exploit off and the various advantages it can bring. While it doesn’t necessarily seem super easy, it’s simple enough for anyone to theoretically do, as all it requires is for players to manipulate Fortnite‘s third-person camera. There doesn’t appear to be a limit to what can be built using this exploit either and it can be used endlessly.
It’s arguably not as bad as some other glitches, but it still risks creating an uneven playing field as some players may be unable to perform the exploit, be unaware of its existence, or simply don’t wish to perform it for the sake of playing fair.
Epic also has yet to acknowledge or address the issue, so there is currently no indication of when it will be fixed, meaning this kind of play could become very commonplace once Season 4 begins.
Speaking of Season 4, build-up has already begun, with players able to enjoy an in-game comic featuring Thor and Galactus, and Thor’s own hammer has dropped into the game and made a massive crater somewhere on the map, further confirming that the God of Thunder will be included as an unlockable skin.
Fortnite is no stranger to having Marvel-themed crossovers, with the likes of Captain America and Deadpool being included as skins in the past, but this is the first time we’ve had an entire season dedicated to it. Funnily enough, Epic has a DC-themed bundle coming out in only a few months, titled the Last Laugh bundle, which will comes with cosmetics based on Batman villain The Joker.
Fortnite is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
