A new edition of the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase livestream recently unveiled additional information about Harmonix’s upcoming DJ music-mixing game Fuser.
Zoey Schneider from Harmonix, the developers behind the long-lived Rock Band franchise, announced three new songs that will be on the Fuser soundtrack: “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, “Ghosts N Stuff” from deadmau5, and “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I.
Fuser gives gamers the chance to become a master DJ, teaching everything from the basics of music mixing to expert-level tricks and techniques. Players will perform concerts at six different massive stage venues, and viewers of the Nintendo Direct Mini livestream received a brief glimpse of one of these concert stages, although no details about it were given.
Additionally, Schneider shared a first look at Fuser’s collaborative multiplayer mode. Friends can take turns showing off their DJ skills, while those waiting in the wings can toss emojis of support and encouragement their way. When everybody has had a go at the decks, the game decides who had the hottest mix based on the number of emojis given, fan requests, and screenshots taken.
A Nintendo Switch Online membership, a Nintendo Account, and an online connection will be necessary to participate in the multiplayer features of the game.
In Fuser, players will be able to combine beats, melodies and vocals from a library of over 100 popular songs, adding in a variety of instruments and sound effects to create one-of-a-kind mixes. And every DJ will have a unique, personalized look thanks to the game’s customization options that allow players to select their clothes, hair, makeup, tattoos and accessories.
Fuser will be coming to PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One this Fall 2020.
