New Video Compares Xbox Series X Size to Other Consoles

A new video by YouTuber Maniak Gaming directly compares an Xbox Series X console to other game consoles, showing off just how large the Series X truly is.

The overall form-factor of the Xbox Series X is very different for a game console, and looks rather strange when looked at when compared to other systems. It looks more like a gaming PC or a router (or a mini-fridge, as many have joked) rather than a console, as some users on Twitter have pointed out. But though it is large, its form factor is not impractical: it stands up-right, taking up less table space than most other consoles because of its rectangular shape.

Within the video, viewers can see that the Xbox Series X is larger than just about every other gaming console that has come before it, including the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One which are both already considered to be rather large consoles themselves. The Series X gets directly compared to various other game consoles, including the Nintendo GameCube, which interestingly enough is about the same length-wise, but roughly three times shorter in height. Other consoles, like the Nintendo Switch hybrid, pale in size comparison. When compared to other Xbox consoles, the Series X may look the largest overall, but takes up quite a bit less counter space.

The console has been given plenty of criticism because of the Xbox Series X’s odd form-factor, but different doesn’t necessarily mean bad. When the console launches this holiday, everyone will see how consumers feel after getting their hands on the next-gen console.

Last month, Microsoft hosted a live Xbox event where the company unveiled a ton of new titles for the upcoming system, including a brand new entry into the Fable series, a Silent Hill-inspired horror title The Medium, the next entry into the State of Decay series, Hello Neighbor 2, and much more.

It was also recently confirmed by 343 Industries that Halo Infinite is being delayed, and will no longer be releasing alongside the Xbox Series X. It instead will be arriving on the console sometime in 2021, with 343 Industries stating that the title just isn’t quite ready, and needs additional development time in order to fine-tune the next-gen entry into the long-running Halo franchise. This seems like a smart move, as the general reception to its gameplay premiere was rather negative and fans seem to have reacted positively to the Infinite‘s delay. Despite this setback, the Xbox Series X is still set to launch sometime this holiday season.
