Blair Witch Switch Trailer Has Hidden Animal Crossing: New Horizons Code

When Blair Witch released on Switch back in June, it was accompanied by a live-action launch trailer. But what fans didn’t realize – until now at least – was that there is an Animal Crossing: New Horizons code hidden in the trailer.

Even with more than 64,000 views on YouTube, it seems that not on fan found the hidden code in the Blair Witch trailer and posted about it online, until today that is. It is easy to understand how so many fans could have missed the code, as it only appears for a brief moment. The code can be seen 17 seconds into the trailer, but it only appears for one frame, so it might help to slow down the speed of the video. When the tv shuts off, the code MODH4GJ23PMW4R is visible.

Fans who do find the code will be rewarded with a Blair Witch hoodie for their Animal Crossing: New Horizons character. The hoodie is similar to the real-life hoodies that were given away when the game was showcased at Gamescom 2020.

Animal Crossing codes are an easy way for a player to get unique clothing items. Any player can create their own custom-designed clothing item via the kiosk in The Able Sisters shop and share the code for that creation online, so there are thousands of Animal Crossing clothing designs that have circulated around the community.

Blair Witch was developed by Bloober Team and initially released in August 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game, a horror puzzle- solving simulation, takes place two years after the events of the original movie and tells the story of former police officer Ellis Lynch and his loyal German Shepard Bullet. Blair Witch released to mixed reviews, but several fans and critics praised the title for being the best Blair Witch experience since the original movie.

While it may seem that Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Blair Witch have nothing in common – and this is partly true, the games are in fact completely different in terms of gameplay and style – many fans in the Animal Crossing community are die-hard horror fans, so the small crossover is sure to excite.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube that show Animal Crossing: New Horizon players modeling their islands after their favorite horror settings. The settings from Stephen King’s The Shining and the 2019 horror film Midsommar have both been recreated again and again by Animal Crossing fans, for example.

It’s already confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will get a Halloween update sometime soon, so fans can look forward to getting even more spooky items in the next few months.

Blair Witch is out now for PC, Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
