Fortnite: Where to Visit a Giant Throne as Doctor Doom

Fortnite is currently in the middle of its latest crossover, which involves several prominent Marvel characters. The cast has started off small, but there’s a good chance it will not stay that way. Already there has been a leak of a map location for Black Panther, and who knows who else is in store.

This is perhaps one of the most ambitious crossovers for Fortnite yet, and not just because it is a huge one going on even as Epic Games is in the midst of a legal battle. The different characters that players can be (by obtaining their skins of course) have powers that players can unlock and use, but only by fulfilling their quests. These quests are not especially difficult, but are easily most difficult for Dr. Doom, the only villain players can use at the moment. This guide will help with his quest, in particular the second part of it.

Before looking for the giant throne that is the second part of Dr. Doom’s quest, players will have to find his giant statue. This is a statue of Doom himself, and it’s kind of hard to miss. Keep in mind, this statue is separate from Dr. Doom as a boss, so put that version of him aside completely. The statue is in Pleasant Park, renamed Doom’s Domain for the duration of the Marvel event (probably). Players will actually have to be Dr. Doom for the entire quest, so don’t forget the costume (once it’s unlocked or bought, of course).

This is the literal big one, the one that can cause some serious headaches for players. The throne is difficult to find, and is the hardest part by far of the questline. It may not be as convoluted as getting the Fortnite pickaxe in Marvel’s Avengers, but it’s still an exercise in frustration, though the throne is southeast of Retail Row.

Here’s the thing that may trip some players up. When most people think of Doom’s Throne, they think of the one he rides around on, a Doom sized rocket chair with weapons in it. This is not that throne. It’s actually a giant throne carved  into the side of a mountain. There are some trees growing out of the seat, making things even more confusing.

At least with the Bifrost Marks that Thor players have to visit, they look like what they are. Doom’s Throne not only doesn’t fit Doom, it doesn’t fit anyone in Fortnite. Keep eyes peeled for the tree cluster, and its shape should become apparent as Doom drops into the arena. Landing there is enough to complete the challenge.

After that, getting a Victory Royale with Doom is the final step. And remember, if unlocking the powers is too much hassle, there are always the Energy Rifles that anyone can get.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Android, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in the works.
