Remothered: Broken Porcelain Gets Creepy New Gamescom 2020 Trailer

Set to release this October, Remothered: Broken Porcelain is a followup to Tormented Fathers, a survival horror title from 2018, and all indications point to the game being just as creepy as its predecessor. These indications have come by way of several unsettling trailers that were released over the last several months, and indeed another one has just come out of the ongoing Gamescom 2020.

This new Remothered: Broken Porcelain trailer begins with protagonist Jenn as she arrives at the Ashmann Inn, a manor that serves as the primary setting for this forthcoming horror title. As she settles in, Jenn begins to form a bond with a young maid named Linn, and while there are hints that the Inn is a troubled place, their relationship is initially depicted quite pleasantly, with shared flowers, dancing, and more.

It does not take long for things to take a turn for the worse in this Remothered: Broken Porcelain trailer, though, as disturbing imagery begins to rapidly flicker. During this section, the relentless ticking of a metronome helps heighten the sense of unease, and it all comes to a head with a woman clutching her face in despair as she points a handgun off-screen.

After a brief moment of black, horror game fans are back with Jenn and Linn, who now sit together at a desk that they have apparently drawn piano keys upon. This moment calls back to the aforementioned metronome, and it paves the way for a more intimate look at the pair’s relationship. “You are the only thing that has ever made me feel alive,” Linn says as the two come in for a kiss and the trailer reaches its conclusion.

While it is true that much of this footage has been revealed previously in other Remothered: Broken Porcelain trailers, the Gamescom trailer may at least help tide fans over until the game comes out. Indeed, after the title’s release date was pushed back from August to October, many players are undoubtedly anxious to get their hands on Broken Porcelain, and they are sure to appreciate any looks at the game that they can get until then.

To note, Broken Porcelain is actually set to be the second part in director Chris Darril‘s Remothered trilogy, though little has been confirmed about what will come in the final chapter. That said, if it will ultimately follow the trend established by Tormented Fathers and this Broken Porcelain trailer, players should expect that game to be filled with terror.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain releases for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 20th, 2020.
