Dr Disrespect Struggling With Anxiety Since Twitch Ban

In his most recent livestream, Dr Disrespect opened up about some new issues with anxiety that he began to experience following his mysterious Twitch ban, saying that he’s never dealt with it before despite always being involved in high-pressure activities.

Earlier this year, Dr Disrespect was suddenly banned from Twitch, allegedly without any reason being given. Some fans have posited that it could’ve been due to Twitch moving money around to acquire other more popular livestream personalities, such as Ninja, who took to both YouTube and Twitch following the Mixer shutdown. However, this has yet to be proven. After a formidable break, the Doc announced his move to YouTube, where he’s undoubtedly seen great success. The combined hype from the mysterious ban with his loving fans resulted in over 400,000 concurrent viewers on Dr Disrespect’s first YouTube stream.

But according to the Doc, he still doesn’t know the reason for the Twitch ban, and at this point, he and the rest of the internet likely never will. In a livestream from August 31st, he admits that it’s taken somewhat of a toll on him in the shape of newfound anxiety. At the end of the stream, the Doc opened up to his fans in a personal moment, feeling that he needed to explain himself.

Dr Disrespect explains that he was in the middle of riding a high, feeling invulnerable and unstoppable, when that was suddenly ripped away from him. And to not know anything about the ban or the reason behind it has caused his anxiety to come in massive waves. But he’s never experienced it before, he says. Though the Doc has always been involved in sports and other high-pressure situations, anxiety is a brand-new experience for him. “The fact that I am here live on YouTube, it’s been a fantastic return,” the Doc says, “but my anxiety levels are something that comes in these huge waves and I’m having a hard time dealing with it, I’ll be honest.”

The comedic gamer also explains that it’s not just about being successful in the numbers or no longer hosting a Twitch account, but it’s also about the opportunities and relationships that he’s lost in the event. The Two-Time says that he’s accepted the responsibility for past mistakes and downfalls that his brand has had to overcome: “It was on me.” But now, without knowing the reason behind the Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect is unable to own up to any mistakes, therefore, unable to overcome them fully. “I don’t accept anything. And there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Topic begins at approximately 3:57:40.

Ending the stream, the Doc says goodbye by explaining that there might be days where he feels or seems off. “Just so you know,” he says, “We’re trying to learn the dark alleyway, man.”
