Destiny 2 Details Behemoth Titan Stasis Subclass | Game Rant

Bungie has fully opened up about Destiny 2: Beyond Light as the expansion seems closer than ever. While glimpses of the new subclasses and their abilities were showcased before, the studio gives a deeper dive of the Titan subclass named Behemoth in the latest blog post.

There was always the promise of more Destiny 2 reveals during the fall but the team actually provided a mini-roadmap of when players can expect to learn more about the new Stasis subclasses. The following item on the list is the Hunter subclass, which will be discussed on September 8.

Regarding the Titan Stasis subclass, the studio shared more about two primary elements: the super and melee ability. This subclass is all about close quarters combat and manipulation of the battlefield. It was noted that Stasis Titans will have high damage potential and be tough to kill.

Behemoth Titans will form a huge gauntlet of crystal around their fists when activating the super Glacial Quake, as well as covering themselves in a protective layer of ice. This Titan super gives the player greatly increased mobility, allowing them to jump around the battleground with ease, and a highly improved melee attack.

While in the super state, Stasis Titans can simply slide or run through frozen enemies to shatter them. Alternatively, Behemoths can slam the ground with their fists, unleashing a wave of Stasis in front of them that generates crystal blocks and freezes nearby combatants.

If players get the hang of this super ability, they should have no problem utilizing the melee ability. Activating the Shiver Strike melee sets off a Stasis blast beneath the Titan’s feet, launching them a great distance. Before crashing into an enemy, they form a Stasis gauntlet around their hands that knocks back the primary target and slows down those in the vicinity.

As a bonus, Bungie gave a peek into the customization options for Behemoth. Just like the Warlock’s Stasis subclass, players are urged to find relics in the world to insert into ability slots and alter their Stasis play-style. With the right “Aspect,” Titans can make shattered Stasis crystals drop Stasis shards on the ground which provide melee energy on pickup for the whole party. Furthermore, they can increase the duration of lingering Slowness effects or how long enemies get Slowed for.

Titans of this subclass focus on holding and taking ground via the use of mobility, freezing and crystalline walls. In this dynamic of a subclass there is also potential for fighting game-like combos. One example Bungie gave was that the player can cancel a slide by activating Shiver Strike, then end their leap prematurely to land into enemies close by.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available on November 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
