Jon Favreau’s upcoming fantasy adventure virtual reality game, Gnomes and Goblins received a new trailer recently giving fans some insight on what to expect from the title. The trailer didn’t show too much that the playable demo didn’t, but it does serve as a good way to introduce those that hadn’t seen anything about the game yet. It also seems to support that the game’s planned release date of September 23rd will end up pulling through.
Most probably already know the name Jon Favreau, but that isn’t due to an association with video games or virtual reality. Favreau’s claim to fame is his part as a Producer, Director, and Actor in various MCU and Disney films. Gnomes and Goblins started out as a quiet project despite having such a big name attached to it, and went several years without much news or progress being made, prompting many to believe the project may have been scrapped until recently.
Though it may seem strange for Favreau to be working on a virtual reality game, he actually has extensive experience with the technology. As director of the live action remake of Lion King, Favreau used virtual reality technology frequently when planning out scenes and designing landscapes.
Fans that want to see more of Gnomes and Goblins, should watch the trailer above, and those wanting to experience some of what it has to offer should look for the free demo online. Overall, it looks like it will be a cute, enjoyable VR experience filled with enchanted creatures and even more enchanted moments.
Gnomes and Goblins is scheduled to release on September 23rd for PC.
