10 Hidden Items In Marvel’s Avengers (& Where To Find Them)

With Marvel’s Avengers now being officially released, many Marvel and video game fans are desperate to explore every single nook and cranny available in the Avengers’ world. As with most superhero-related video games, it is packed with Easter eggs, hidden items, and collectibles galore.

Square Enix has made sure that fans are not just restricted to a story mode but are able to explore the Avengers’ universe somewhat and discover some insanely cool items along the way. However, some hidden items are better than others, so let’s explore the best hidden items on offer in Marvel’s Avengers and where to find them!

10 Breakout Secret Shield Cache

You will have to be taking part in the “Breakout” Stage to be able to find this hidden item. You can do this after finding the Ant Hill which is Ant-Man’s base. Once you are there, head to the city and immediately make a left turn where. you will find a parking lot with a ton of vehicles and road signs.

Go past the cars until you find a cave behind them. Enter the cave and collect all resources possible and them once you leave the. cave stick to the left-hand side. You will then spot a Sewer Grate which you should climb up until the SHIELD Radar activates. Once again stick to the left until you find more road signs near another cave, drop to the bottom floor and you will find a switch next to a traffic cone which will unveil the secret cache.

9 To Find Olympia Collectibles

In this mission, you are tasked with locating Tony Stark and Jarvis, however, the mission is stacked with hidden items and resources to help you further down the road. This mission has a staggering 23 hidden items which include intel, a comic book and chests. The hardened chests are scattered around the whole mission so make sure to check every single area especially during the start of the mission.

Once you enter the actual facility, locate a room with the label ‘Cargo O2’ where you will find another chest and the first piece of intel. To find the Comic Book, you will be playing as Kamala towards the end of the mission where you can locate a bunch more chests as well as the comic which is hidden in a room by a row of old consoles.

8 Stark Realities Secret Chest

During this Warzone mission, you can once again find a hidden SHIELD Cache full of valuable items. Once you start out go to the left straight away until you find an AIM Outpost which has a handful of guards. Take out the guards and then go just past the base until you find a river which you should follow on the left-hand side.

The SHIELD Radar will activate during this but keep going left until you find a sewer grate which has valuable resources in it. Climb out of the ravine afterwards and follow your radar into the woods, Jarvis will help you locate the Cache as he will make a noise and it will zoom onto the chest which is by a random tree.

7 The Road Back Comic Book

This mission features 13 collectibles which include chests, intel, and a comic book. It is easy to locate the intel and chests throughout the mission, however, it is more difficult to locate the single comic book that is available. The Comic Book in question is a Hulk comic which can be located in the hangar bay.

You need to go to the main floor of the hangar bay and go towards the front left by a jet. You will spot a workbench towards this area, go towards the workbench near the cockpit and the comic will be available to pick up.

6 New Normal Comic Books

During the ‘New Normal’ mission, you will be playing as Kamala in which you can find two hidden comic books. You start the mission by scaling across rooftops to locate Kamala’s secret base. Go across to the next roof with a large wooden patio area and you can locate a piece of intel. Afterwards, go forward until you spot a second zipline.

Go up the wall directly ahead and look to your right where the comic will be sitting in a box. Now carry on until you go inside Kamala’s secret base, head to the right before going up to the second floor. You will find her very own Ms. Marvel comic sitting on her table.

5 DNA Keys

DNA Keys are the most mysterious items in Marvel’s Avengers, however, they are actually very easy to find. All you have to do is defeat human bosses such as Taskmaster who will drop a DNA Key once defeated. You can also farm DNA Keys by talking to both faction coordinators. The first is located on the Chimera and the other at the Inhuman’s Base.

You can take on a daily mission from both of the faction coordinators which in turn end with you collecting a DNA Key. To find a DNA Chest you need to collect the SHIELD Cache in Stark Realities mentioned earlier and also find a vault coordinate. Once you do this a vault mission will appear which will end with you locating the DNA Chest.

4 Hero Gates

Hero Gates are locked doors that can only be accessed by certain superheroes. Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Thor can all breakthrough destructible walls with a charged heavy attack. Iron Man can only break walls while using the Hulkbuster. The other Hero Gate is access terminals which Iron Man and Black Widow can hack.

Captain America is unable to open either Hero Gate, plus you can only open a Hero Gate if you are playing as that selected character, the AI will not open it for you even if the character has the ability to do so.

3 High-Resolution Texture Pack

If you are playing Marvel’s Avengers on PC then you can access a secret High-Resolution Texture Pack for a more immersive gameplay experience. Head over to Steam and locate the game in your library and right-click and open up the properties tab. This will open up a settings menu which will include DLC which you should click on.

You will simply see an option which says Marvel’s Avengers High-Resolution Texture Pack which you should tick to start installing. Bear in mind it is a huge download and the system requirement are pretty hefty so only do this if you have a high-end gaming PC.

2 The Red Room

This is a very interesting one as it isn’t a collectible but more of a potential foreshadowing of future DLC. Once you play as Black Widow and make your way back to the Chimera you can explore her room just as she left it. Her weapons are all laid out, as are her civilian disguises if you walk up to her wardrobe.

However, the most interesting part is the nod to The Red Room which was The Soviet Assassin Academy that trained Natasha before she moved to the SHIELD. If you move towards her table in her room you can interact with a musical box with a ballerina with Natasha making a comment about her past and how the ballerina revolves around her false memories. Hinting towards a potential trip to The Red Room.

1  Mayhem Over Manhattan Collectibles

In this mission, once you start playing as Captain America you can locate a secret piece of intel as well as a comic book. Once you have collected all part of the Starktech outfit and then you are supposed to head to the Tech Lab but instead go to the commissary. The intel is on your right as you enter.

To locate the comic book you are tasked with heading to the War Table but before this go towards the Hangar Bay. Head towards the left when you enter and the comic will be located inside some crates near the corner of the room.
