Bugs are nothing new to Call of Duty: Warzone, like the recent C4 bug that makes the weapon useless, but this new glitch is a little more sinister. It doesn’t just ruin the fun for a player or two, but the whole lobby.
Bugs on a game as big as Call of Duty: Warzone shouldn’t be very surprising. The game features a giant map and 150 players and is constantly being updated with new content or fixes to old bugs, which sometimes may break something else. This isn’t limited just to Warzone, other battle royales like Apex Legends have nasty bugs too, like one that punished players who unlocked the ultra-rare heirloom weapons. But even still, a bug as disruptive as this one currently facing Warzone hasn’t appeared in Apex.
According to a video shared by YouTuber and streamer JGOD, there is a new bug that is crashing entire lobbies, and worst of all it can be triggered intentionally. JGOD featured Twitch footage from fellow streamer averagejoewo, who had this happen on multiple matches during his stream. The instructions on how to trigger this glitch have gone viral on TikTok, and the number of lobbies being crashed is growing.
Without going into detail to prevent further misery on the part of Warzone players and streamers everywhere, it involves a player going out of bounds at a specific part of the map. Once there, the timer warning the player to get back onto the map will freeze, which will in turn freeze the match clock for everyone in the lobby. Shortly after that, the entire lobby will be kicked and every player will receive a connection error.
Hopefully a glitch as troublesome as this can be fixed rather quickly, ideally before next update that will apparrently include a night mode map, but there might not be enough time for Infinity Ward to work this one out. The one nice thing about this bug is that it is at least somewhat avoidable. But on the other hand, it is easily replicated by people who just want to ruin other people’s fun or streams.
This isn’t the only bug currently affecting the game, sadly, as the Buy Station bug when players purchase revives while prone is still around causing problems. But thanks to social media, Infinity Ward is more than likely aware of both of these issues and is working hard to fix them however it can, as soon as it can.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
