Ever wondered what the ‘collect the S-K-A-T-E letters’ challenge from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater would look like in real life?
To celebrate the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remastered, the Birdman’s team set up a pretty cool stunt for the celebrity skater – dressing his ramp up with the iconic gold letters from the game for him to collect.
The S-K-A-T-E letters are an enduring part of the THPS series – in-game, you’re tasked with collecting the letters that are scattered around each map in order to complete a challenge.
Went to skate yesterday and was surprised to find my ramp turned into a real-life @TonyHawkTheGame challenge. Thanks to my staff for the thoughtful gift, and thanks to all of you that got the game this weekend. Hope you’re enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the development process. pic.twitter.com/i7jDhnJeG1

Seeing Hawk’s team set the letters up for him to collect on his own ramp is downright heartwarming, if nothing else. All the stunt needs to be more authentic is a speaker blasting out Superman by Goldfinger.
In the video that the veteran skater shared, we also see Hawk collect a hidden tape that his staff left lying around – another nod to a classic objective from the various in-game maps.
If you’re not certain whether the game is worth picking up, head on over to our review of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
