Destiny 2: How to Get Traveler’s Chosen | Game Rant

While Solstice of Heroes may be coming to a close, there’s still more exclusive loot to earn in Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals. Very soon, the latter part of the Exodus quest chains will become available, and players will finally be able to acquire the exotic sidearm Traveler’s Chosen.

This is Destiny 2‘s way of honoring the first gun Guardians held in the main story campaign. Upon launching the first mission, players were handed a simple, but unique, sidearm called Traveler’s Chosen that gets all but destroyed later on. This quest will have players essentially reforge this iconic weapon.

The Exodus Preparation and Exodus Evacuation questlines are also there to help fans say farewell to four of the old Destiny 2 zones. These two pursuits take players on a journey, helping characters on each of the destinations that are about to be run over by the Darkness. While Exodus Preparation has been available for months, the second part, Exodus Evacuation is just about to release and provide players a way to earn the exotic sidearm. Here are its steps:

After talking to Asher Mir on Io, players will need to investigate the influence of the Pyramid above the Jovian moon. This will be done through heading into the Sanctum of Bones Lost Sector and collecting the Taken Phalanx’s sample as well as investigating the chest inside. Additionally, 25 Traces of Corruption will need to be collected by defeating Taken.

Players simply need to complete the Pyramidion Strike as normal and defeat 40 Vex on Io to collect their Scan Traces. This should be doable while in the Strike.

To cull the increase in Taken activity, players need to complete the Unexpected Guests Adventure on Heroic difficulty.

After telling Asher their findings, players will be awarded the Silicon Neuroma sniper rifle (formerly a rare drop from the Pyramidion Nightfall Strike) and asked to go to Titan.

After meeting with Sloane, Guardians will be asked to venture into the Methane Flush Lost Sector in Siren’s Watch, kill the Hive Knight within, and loot the chest.

Then, players will need to recover Golden Age caches that have been confiscated by the Hive. There are 3 caches to be opened, one in the Solarium, the other two in the Festering Halls.

Lastly, players will complete the Savathun’s Song strike and collect Tech Fragments which are dropped by Hive Ogres, Knights, and Wizards.

Sloane will ask for a report and give Guardians the Duty Bound auto rifle (formerly a rare drop from the Savathun’s Song Nightfall Strike). After touching base with Commander Zavala, players will be sent to Mercury and order Brother Vance to pack up his supplies.

Brother Vance will require players to complete the strike A Garden World and collect 15 Timeline Fractures which drop from defeated Hydras, Minotaurs, and Cyclopses.

Next, players will need to run the Tree of Probabilities strike and collect 40 Traces of Osiris from defeating Cabal on Mercury.

And finally, the Heroic Adventure Bug in the System will need to be completed to return to Vance.

Back at the Lighthouse, Brother Vance will get players the hand cannon D.F.A. (formerly a rare drop from the Tree of Probabilities Nightfall Strike). There’s only one destination left to clear, and that is Mars.

Following a chat with Ana Bray, Guardians will investigate a signal coming from Mindlab: Rasputin and retrieve a Data Log.

Players now need to collect 5 Rasputin Frame Pieces by killing Escalation Protocol bosses. This can be done by repeating the first level of Escalation Protocol if later levels are too tough.

Then, players will do the Deathly Tremors Adventure on Heroic difficulty to put an end to the Hive’s ruckus.

Ana Bray will try to rebuild Rasputin with what the players have provided her. As a token of gratitude, she will grant the BrayTech Osprey rocket launcher (formerly a rare drop from the Strange Terrain Nightfall Strike).

There is nothing left to do but return to Zavala. Interestingly, the quest description has a quote from Sloane (an NPC visited earlier) which states “You won’t have to explain this to Zavala. He, of all people, will understand.”

This could mean that some characters, or at least Sloane, have decided to not abandon their posts. It remains to be seen what the future of these characters holds. Regardless, the exotic sidearm Traveler’s Chosen will be gifted to Guardians by the Vanguard commander.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
