Marvel’s Avengers Players Should Do This One Thing Every Day

Many gamers have been pleasantly surprised by the length and quality of the single player campaign in Marvel’s Avengers. The story mode features a pretty exciting and adventure full of adorable fan service moments through the eyes of Kamala as she grows from fan girl to true hero. That said, after 10 or so hours the campaign comes to an end and it’s time for players to fall into a new gameplay loop habit.

Once that transition happens, players will start playing around in the Avengers Initiative side of the game to explore everything else the title has to offer. This means individual missions for each hero, war zones, and eventually Villain Sectors. As players are logging in and taking on each of those challenges either solo, with friends, or with random matchmaking; they’ll want to make sure they take a few simple steps to ensure they get the best value out of their time in Marvel’s Avengers by earning as many rewards as possible each day.

Like many looter shooters or other games influenced by the MMO genre, Marvel’s Avengers features central world hubs where players can interact with NPCs, buy and sell gear, and find out what tasks they should concentrate on for the day. Although most players are currently just focusing on leveling up and then getting their power level (which comes from gear) as high as possible through grinding whatever missions are available, focusing on daily tasks and quests will help make both of those goals go by much more quickly.

Each day, players need to make sure to start off by visiting both the Chimera and the Ant Hill and finding the two NPCs who offer quests. Grab every quest available (there is no quest log size limit) from each of the vendors. Get ready to here “Really? You’re the best” about a dozen times a day.

This is fairly easy to do and the item and XP rewards for completing each task are well worth the couple of minutes it takes to go around and gather them up at the beginning of each play session. That said, some players are pretty unhappy with this sort of out of combat homework. The location of the NPC that offers the quests on the Chimera in particular is a popular point to complain about. He is located all the way in the back, off by himself in the hangar. It’s not quite clear why he can’t hang out near the other vendors and reduce the amount of slow running around players need to do as they gather up their daily quests.

The Ant Hill NPC isn’t as hard to get to and is basically a straight shot from where players portal into the location. The load time heading from the helicarrier to the Ant Hill or vice versa is the only real pain point about picking up those quests. Although it doesn’t seem nearly as time consuming, some players are comparing this daily running around to parts of Anthem that made that game frustrating and slow for them. Hopefully Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics listen carefully to the feedback and perhaps at least consider increasing the run speed in the hub locations or allowing for jumping and traversal around those locations like the heroes could do in other locations.

Regardless of the valid feedback on the current system for picking up quests from each faction vendor, players should definitely take the time to do it everyday they are playing. The rewards are well worth the effort and the majority of quests can be completed just by doing what you were going to do anyway. Only the hardest quests really require going out of the way at all.

Marvel’s Avengers is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development. Game Rant was provided with a PS4 code for this review.
