Hyrule Warriors Announcement Has Fans Wondering About Persona 5 Scramble

With the recent announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, many fans have been buzzing with excitement on social media. However, this new title being developed by Koei Tecmo Games has brought Persona 5 Scramble and its localization back into conversation.

At the end of July, Atlus announced that Persona 5 Scramble would be released in the West, though it had been speculated for some time before that. However, there has been no word from Atlus on the game since then, and the announcement of the new Hyrule Warriors has brought that Persona spin-off game back into the spotlight.

Since Koei Tecmo Games developers had a hand in the making of Persona 5 Scramble as well as this new Zelda title, the news that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity already has a worldwide release date so close to its announcement has created a stir in the Persona community. Though that being said, some are content knowing the game will be available sometime in the future.

However, others are upset that Atlus has not been able to provide them with the same experience that Nintendo is showing can be done. Persona 5 Scramble was released this February in Japan, meaning more news about its localization has taken longer than Legend of Zelda fans will have to wait to play the new Hyrule Warriors after this announcement. This has led some to feel the Atlus localization team is neglecting the well-loved franchise.

Atlus has told its financial investors that Persona 5 Scramble will be released in the West by the end of the fiscal year, but that could be any time up to March 2021. While the company has made “Persona 5 Strikers” a registered trademark in the U.S., hinting at the work being done behind the scenes, there has been no official news.

While there isn’t any clear communication from Atlus on this game, a social media post by the official Persona Twitter account last month is leading fans to believe that a Persona 5 Scramble DLC expansion is in the works. If this is the case, it may explain why the localization isn’t being tied down to a specific date. As Atlus continues working on the localization, it may want to bring the main game and the additional content to Western gamers at the same time. Either way, hopefully fans will get more information on the game soon.

Persona 5: Scramble is available now for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
