Insider Hints at Free Xbox Live Multiplayer | Game Rant

Within the last few months especially, there has been a large cacophony of Xbox related news that has many in the gaming community anticipated for the release of the Xbox Series X. Though, for how much has been revealed, this, in turn, has led to plenty of rumors and conjecture. One especially promising rumor regarding free Xbox Live multiplayer has had numerous Xbox fans excited for months now.

This rumor started circulating back in early August, but Microsoft was quick to shut them down. Since that time, not much else has been confirmed or denied. However, thanks to a recent report from a trusted industry insider, hope does not appear to be lost in terms of free multiplayer on Xbox.

Jeff Grubb is a writer fir Venturebeat and has revealed various pieces of insider news regarding multiple facets of the gaming industry, particularly Xbox related news. Back in late August, Grubb stated that the game being developed by The Initiative takes place in the world of Perfect Dark. However, when asked about free Xbox Live, he gave a rather interesting answer.

Grubb was recently asked on Twitter to comment on free Xbox Live multiplayer. Essentially, his response was that the news regarding free multiplayer was delayed along with every other piece of major Xbox news, such as the release date and price of the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S.

Of course, it is integral to note that none of this is confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Until Microsoft officially announces it, anything that is said about the future of the console should be considered conjecture. Although, it is rather concerning how much information Microsoft has withheld, which inevitably led to the leak of the Xbox Series S. This in turn, forced Microsoft to officially announce the console ahead of when it was presumably planned.

If any of the leaks are believed to be true, then the new Xbox consoles are set to launch in early November, which leaves Microsoft with only a couple months to unveil the official details. The company has already unveiled the release date and price of the Xbox Series S, but still nothing in terms of the Xbox Series X. Hopefully official news will arrive sooner, rather than later and hopefully among the news that is shown, free Xbox multiplayer is one of them.

The Xbox Series X is set to launch in the Holiday of 2020.
