New Call of Duty Operator is Italian Cowboy | Game Rant

For most Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players, selecting an Operator is simply a matter of how cool the character looks, with little consideration given to their backstory or how the Operator made their way into the game. However, n Operator based on a real British SAS trooper was added to the game for season 5, so sometimes there’s more to a character than a neat outfit. Such is the case with the new Operator Morte coming to the game on September 8th.

It has been a hectic week in the world of Call of Duty, between leaked footage of Cold War multiplayer to the game-breaking Warzone glitch leading to the complete removal of vehicles, there have been a number of little fires for Activision to put out. This has been a pretty consistent trend for the massively popular Modern Warfare, and its battle royale companion Warzone. Fans are hungry for the latest news and rumors leading to leaks, and when game updates drop there is a chance that something will break the game which requires immediate damage control.

The game is looking to get back on track with the introduction of the Coalition Operator Morte this week. The story behind Morte is that he is in fact based on the Italian superstar Fabio Rovazzi, a self-professed Call of Duty fan. The actor/director/singer lends his voice and appearance to the character of Sergio Sullo, aka Morte, a man who dreamed of joining law enforcement, but a stint in jail prevented that dream from coming true. The character is a nod to classic Italian Western films with his cowboy getup and Rovazzi is “flattered and satisfied beyond imagination” to be given the opportunity to have a character featured in the Modern Warfare and Warzone.

Morte will be available as part of a new bundle priced at 2400 Call of Duty Points, the going rate for premium bundles like the Kawaii Cat Mara set. It may seem a bit steep for some, but the bundle comes with a few gun blueprints, along with other goodies to entice players.

The bundle includes M4 and Mk2 Carbine blueprints, which are hit (M4) or miss (Mk2) for most players, but could pull a few people away from the recent shotgun meta. Many folks are running around Warzone with R9-0 shotgun loadouts that obliterate opponents at close range. Perhaps a step back to assault rifles or a marksman is in order.

The stream of content continues in Call of Duty, and Morte is the latest new piece to be added to that mix. Fans are already looking ahead to what Season 6 might bring, and rumors that subways are coming to Warzone have fans ready for more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
