Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was announced just yesterday, and it has already made quite an impact within the Zelda community. It’s been a little over six years since the first Hyrule Warriors game was first released, and now that a sequel is set to launch later this year, many are wanting to know more about what’s in store. There was one little detail, though, that went unmentioned during the reveal trailer for the game.
This game has already done a lot to excite fans of both The Legend of Zelda and Hyrule Warriors. For some fans, the fact that this game will serve as a prequel to Breath of the Wild is more than enough reason to purchase this game. Others are excited to see the return of intense gameplay present in the previous Hyrule Warriors. Luckily for them, they won’t have to enjoy it alone.
It has now been confirmed on the official web page for the game that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will feature local co-op multiplayer, which will allow players to take on the numerous hordes of enemies featured within the game with friends. It’s interesting how such an enticing detail wasn’t mentioned in the reveal trailer. In fact, a lot of things actually went unsaid during the reveal trailer, such as the pre-order bonus being a soup ladle.
However, the fact that not a lot of information was mentioned in the reveal trailer actually makes a lot of sense. From how the trailer plays out, it seems much more cinematic rather than informative. This could imply that the game will focus a great deal on story, which could presumably impact the upcoming Breath of the Wild sequel.
In any case, it will be exciting to see what other features will be included in the game. Obviously, it’s too early to tell what kind of content will be exactly featured in the game outside its Dynasty Warrior-style approach, or if there will be any potential DLC like with the previous installment. There will be Amiibo figures specifically for Age of Calamity, but otherwise, not much else is known about this game.
It will be exciting to see what the future holds for this game and also how it will relate to Breath of the Wild. At the end of the trailer, it said the next Age of Calamity update would occur on September 26th, so hopefully finer details regarding the game will be properly brought to light. For now, fans will just have to wait.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set to launch on November 20th, 2020.
