Destiny 2: A Step-By-Step Guide For Obtaining Traveler’s Chosen

Traveler’s Chosen is a newly released Exotic Sidearm that is a rendition of the first weapon players obtain during the Red War campaign in Destiny 2. This weapon is a powerhouse in the Crucible and grants a massive amount of utility in PvE, capable of letting players use their abilities much more frequently than normal.

Obtaining this weapon is by no means difficult, but it can certainly be time-consuming. Players will need to help Asher Mir, Brother Vance, Sloane, and Ana Bray evacuate from their stations before the Darkness destroys each planet. For those that want to earn this Exotic before it’s too late, here is a complete guide on earning the Exotic Traveler’s Chosen in Destiny 2.

10 Complete Exodus: Preparation

At any point during Season of Arrivals, players can talk to Zavala at the Tower to obtain the “Exodus: Preparation” quest. This is a pre-requisite to the “Exodus: Evacuation” quest that rewards Traveler’s Chosen. Completing this involves players traveling to each Year 1 planet and completing a wide range of planetary activities.

Once this quest is finished, speak with Zavala at the Tower to begin “Exodus: Evacuation.” He will tell players to help Asher Mir on Io and Sloane on Titan. Head to Io and speak with Asher to start the first quest objective.

9 Complete Activities On Io

Similar to “Evacuation: Preparation,” each planetary vendor will ask players to partake in various activities before embarking on the next planet. For Asher Mir, he asks players to start by completing the Sanctum of Bones Lost Sector and defeating a unique Taken Phalanx within. He also requires players to kill 25 Taken foes, which can easily be completed if the player is clearing the Sanctum of Bones solo. The Phalanx can be found where the boss is.

Completing these tasks will then reveal a new set of objectives that require players to kill 40 Vex foes and complete a rum of The Pyramidion strike. This strike does not need to be completed from the strike playlist to count. Finally, complete the “Unexpected Guests” Heroic Adventure. Unexpected Guests can be launched from the Director right under where “The Whisper” mission lies. Talk to Asher afterward and he will grant the Silicon Neuroma Nightfall-exclusive Sniper Rifle.

8 Talk To Sloane

Titan is the next stop for evacuating the planets. Sloane will tell the player of a few Hive disturbances that need to be dealt with. More specifically, Hive Treasurers have been spotted looting the Arcology.

Sloane will need players to take care of this while also completing a few other easy activities on Titan.

7 Complete Activities On Titan

As with Asher, Sloane will first ask players to clear out a Lost Sector. Head to the Methane Flush Lost Sector to the right of spawn and clear out the enemies within. Make sure to defeat the Ultra Knight inside the Lost Sector. Clearing this out will then require players to track down the Hive Treasurers Sloane was referencing earlier.

Travel to the Solarium at the rightmost part of Titan to find the first Treasurer. This enemy is a tough Hive Knight, so use Heavy weapons and any Supers to take it down. Loot the chest that spawns, then proceed on the path to the right to fight the next two Hive Treasures. The next two foes are Hive Ogres and drop chests on death. Loot the two Ogre chests to finish this step.

Finally, players will need to complete the Savathun’s Song strike and defeat 25 Hive Knights, Ogres, or Wizards. Each enemy counts for one point and any combination of enemy kills will work. This should be easy to complete in one go of the strike if players don’t instantly kill the final boss. Return to Sloane to receive the Duty Bound Nightfall-exclusive Auto Rifle.

6 Report To Zavala

Zavala will request the player to return to the Tower. Head back to the hub town and talk to the Titan Vanguard leader to receive the curated Mindbender’s Ambition roll.

Commander Zavala will then ask players to investigate Mercury and Mars to help Brother Vance and Ana Bray respectively. Mercury will house the next quest step.

5 Talk To Brother Vance

Brother Vance is as delusional as he’s ever been. Even during the invasion of the Darkness, Vance is still trying to control the Infinite Forest and please Osiris. While he seems unwilling to leave Mercury at all, players are still forced to help him for the next step.

4 Complete Activities On Mercury

Be prepared to clear out the Infinite Forest extensively for this part. Players must complete the “A Garden World” strike and defeat 15 Vex Hydras, Minotaurs, or Cyclopses. It needs to be 15 defeats in total, not per enemy type. Once finished, complete the next step by completing the “Tree of Probabilities” strike while defeating 40 Cabal on Mercury. This can easily be done during the “Tree of Probabilities” strike itself.

After both strikes have been cleared and enough foes have been defeated, Brother Vance will ask players to complete the “Bug in the System” Heroic Adventure. Since every objective is rather time-consuming, try to skip the Infinite Forest by running past enemies or using a Sparrow through the zone. Return to Brother Vance when finished to obtain the D.F.A. Hand Cannon.

3 Talk To Ana Bray

Ana Bray is still doing her best to get Rasputin back online. She has devised a plan to bring Rasputin to the Tower. While she is working on her plan, she will ask the player to do some general activities on Mars to help out the Vanguard. Unlike previous planets, there are no strikes tied to the next step.

2 Complete Activities On Mars

As a small break from the constant shooting, Ana Bray will ask players to uncover a signal from Rasputin through a datapad. This datapad is not marked on the map. To find it, head north of Braytech Futurescape and head to the Aurora Reach. Run past the Hive, slide through the tube, and enter the room ahead. Run straight ahead and jump to the wall to find an open vent. Crawl through it and scan the datapad.

Instead of running a strike, Ana will ask players to defeat 5 Escalation Protocol bosses on Mars. These must be bosses that spawn during the final portion of a wave and not ultra major foes. Since each wave typically has only one final boss, players will need to complete 5 waves in total. For those that can’t find a group, repeat the first wave 5 times to complete the objective. Warmind Cells and add-clearing weapons are fantastic here.

To wrap up the Mars quest step, complete the “Tremors” Heroic Adventure. This should take no more than a few minutes. Talk to Ana Bray when finished to obtain the BrayTech Osprey Rocket Launcher, an absurdly rare Nightfall reward that is needed for the Wayfarer title.

1 Return To Zavala

Despite the player’s best efforts, only Ana Bray is willing to move away from her post and return to the Tower. Zavala will contemplate his past decisions when players talk to him. Once his monologue is done, he will give players the Exotic Traveler’s Chosen, a repaired version of the pistol players start with during the Red War campaign.

As for the weapon itself, Traveler’s Chosen is a 300 RPM Kinetic Sidearm that gains stacks of Charged Light on kill. Each stack grants a bonus to weapon handling, reload speed, and aim assist. It has a cap of 10 stacks. Players can hold the reload key to exchange these stacks for ability energy.
