Players have reached the third week of Fortnite Season 4, and the Marvel characters are making themselves at home on the Battle Island. A new week means a new set of Challenges to complete. These Challenges earn big XP rewards, and help players to quickly level up their Fortnite Battle Pass.
One of this week’s Challenges is to visit Panther’s Prowl, a newly added area on the map. It’s a huge statue of a prowling panther, built to honor the character of Blank Panther. The statue is made of dark stone with flecks of purple, reflecting the character’s color scheme. After the tragic passing of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman last week, many players are seeking out Panther’s Prowl to honor his memory.
Although a panther is a stealthy predator, players might assume that a giant statue of one is kinda hard to miss. But in fact, actually finding Panther’s Prowl can be a bit of a challenge. This is mostly due to the fact that it isn’t a true Point of Interest, and therefore isn’t named on player’s maps. Fortunately, once within visual range, it is quite easy to pick out.
Players looking to find the statue and complete the Challenge should try and land in the south of the Battle Island. The statue itself can be found just west of the Misty Meadows Point of Interest, and way east of the Slurpy Swamp. For anyone who finds themselves landing on or around the dam, simply head south to find the statue itself.
Although the Panther’s Prowl statue isn’t named on the map, it is visible. When getting close, players should look out for a large yellowish circle on the mini-map. When even closer, they should look out for the large panther statue right in front of them instead. While there isn’t much else to do at the statue itself, it does hold one secret that sharp-eyed players should look out for.
There is a hidden chest in the statue’s mouth, which can be reached from the highest point of its plinth. Simply jump up onto the plinth itself, run up through the legs, and the chest will be sitting between the panther’s fangs. Or it will be if it hasn’t already been looted anyway. Simply going near the statue will be enough to complete the Challenge, netting a cool 25,000 experience points.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
