For the past four years, Xbox and Taco Bell have partnered in big giveaway promotions. In 2017, Taco Bell gave away an Xbox One X, and in 2018, it give away a special platinum version of the console. In 2019, Taco Bell gave away an Xbox One X along with Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller. And now, in 2020, Xbox and Taco Bell are teaming up for yet another giveaway, this time giving away the Xbox Series X console before its official launch on November 10.
Starting September 24, anyone who purchases a medium or large drink from Taco Bell will get a code that they can redeem for a chance to win a special Xbox Series X bundle. The bundle includes the Xbox Series X console, a wireless controller, and a six-month membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Those interested can redeem a code up to three times per day through the Taco Bell app’s Taco Bell Rewards Beta, which will need to be downloaded by September 13. Additionally, participants can get extra chances at winning the Xbox Series X console bundle by opting in for emails, with daily drawings from September 15 to September 21.
While the more recent Xbox and Taco Bell giveaways started just recently, the two companies actually have a long relationship dating all the way back to the original Xbox console. Back in 2001, Taco Bell gave away an original Xbox, along with a copy of the critically-acclaimed Project Gotham Racing.
This Xbox Series X giveaway doesn’t come with any games, but it does include a six-month subscription to Game Pass Ultimate. With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, whoever wins this Xbox Series X will have instant access to over 100 games as soon as they get their hands on the console. Not only that, but they will be able to play first-party Xbox games the day they come out, which will include titles like Halo Infinite in 2021.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also ensure that fans have some new games to play on launch day as well. As far as first-party games go, Gears Tactics has recently been confirmed as a launch title. The jury is still out on some other Xbox console exclusives aiming for a holiday 2020 release, but more information should come to light in the weeks leading up to the console’s launch date.
Of course, it’s worth pointing out that the Xbox Series X isn’t the only next-generation console Microsoft will have for sale this holiday season. The smaller, considerably cheaper Xbox Series S will also be available, though it’s not part of any Taco Bell giveaway.
Xbox Series X will launch on November 10.
