Far Cry 5 & 9 Other Games You Can Beat Early On | Game Rant

The Far Cry series has long been one where you can cheat the system and end the game early on. This silly mechanic is one that works extremely well. At the very least it brings a good laugh or two. Far Cry 4 is one of the best. You wait for the antagonist to get back and he just ends the war.

No messes, no unnecessary killing, just peace. There are other games that bring this mechanic to light. While Far Cry wasn’t the first to use it, it certainly made it popular. So, here are games you can beat early if you are feeling tired of the normal gameplay.

10 Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5 takes players to Montana, where a religious cult leader has taken over. He has convinced the people of the state that the end is near and they must prepare for nuclear armageddon. While the story is great, one of the biggest surprises was that you didn’t need to play the game to the end to beat it.

When it comes time to arrest Joseph at the beginning of the game, the player is left with a choice. You can either slap on the cuffs or walk away. If you wait long enough, the sheriff will lower Joseph’s hands and walk out.

9 Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 has a surprise ending if you are skilled enough to achieve it. If you play the story correctly, Nero is meant to lose the prologue fight against Urizen. However, if you are skilled enough, you can defeat Urizen and end the game early.

The game will throw up a loading screen with a few sarcastic sentenced before sending you to the end credits. Good enough players can beat the game within fifteen minutes. Of course, playing through the game is preferred, but beating the game early shows just how great of a player you are.

8 Super Paper Mario

You wouldn’t think a Mario game would be able to be beaten early, but Super Paper Mario isn’t your normal Mario game. This two-dimensional paper version brings in the character Merlon, who tells Mario that he must save the world.

He tells Mario about the eight pure hearts and tasks Mario with collecting them. Instead of going along with the morally right thing to do, players can choose to ignore the pure hearts and let the world perish. That’s right, Mario has a choice to let the world die. Pretty dark for a plumber to do, but it beats doing all that hard work to save the princess.

7 The Stanley Parable

The Stanley Parable isn’t your average game. In it, you play as an office drone who gets told by the narrator what he will be doing. While you are free to take whatever actions you want, most players will follow the demands of the narrator. If you disobey the narrator, he will become frustrated with you.

This works at the beginning of the game where the narrator tells you that you will walk out of your office. If you disobey him and close the door, he will try to prompt you to open the door and go on an adventure. Ignoring him further will send the player back to the title screen. That’s one way to get out of office work.

6 Matrix: Path Of Neo

Everyone is aware of the scenario where Neo is offered the red and blue pills. Matrix: Path of Neo gives the players that same choice. Morpheus tells them that they can take the red pill to unplug from the Matrix, or the blue pill or forget that the conversation ever happened.

Taking the blue pill will end the game early and send players back to the main menu. By doing this, you are able to beat the game with two minutes. You also end up missing out on a lot of gameplay and story that covers all of the Matrix movies.

5 Saints Row 4

The Saints Row crew has been through a lot in their rise to stardom. In Saints Row 4 the Saints are now involved in politics as you are sworn in as president of the United States. Everything is going fine until aliens attack. You are then faced with a decision.

You can either choose to sacrifice yourself or attempt to rescue one of your teammates. If you choose to sacrifice yourself, it ends the game. While this may be considered a game over, think about the way the rest of the story goes. If you play the game correctly, the entire planet gets destroyed. Maybe your sacrifice should be considered the good ending.

4 We Happy Few

The world of We Happy Few is one where people self medicate to avoid seeing the horrors that await them in reality. They use a pill called Joy that makes them see the world in a much different way than it actually is. At the beginning of the game, your character decides to not take the pill.

This results in them being labeled as a “Downer.” You can, however, choose to take the pill and live your life in the sweet bliss of Joy. This ends the game early and allows you to live in ignorance once more.

3 Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human is one of the most amazing story games that has been introduced in the last couple of years. It has three characters that you play as, Kara, Conner, and Markus. Each one of these characters can meet unfavorable ends pretty early on in each of their stories.

You can get Kara killed in her second chapter. Markus can be killed in the free march chapter. Lastly, Conner can be killed if you miss out on quicktime events. After each player is dead, you get a cutscene explaining how the android uprising is wiped out. It is a grim ending, but it cuts hours of gameplay.

2 Nier: Automata

Nier: Automata has tons of endings, 26 to be exact. Beating the game normally ends up getting you one of the endings. This is technically beating the game early if you aren’t trying to get them all. Let’s take it a step further. You can actually beat the game very early on.

During the game, it tells you that the OS Chip should never be removed. Naturally, players would avoid it since the game tells you not to remove it. If you remove the chip, you are greeted with a game over sequence. It isn’t the most graceful ending, but it is better than grinding out all 25 others.

1 Streets Of Rage 3

To beat the game early, you just need to play on easy mode. Doing this allows you to play Streets of Rage 3 with two fewer stages. That’s right, it cuts the last two stages from the game and ends it after the Robot X fight. The game ends with you learning that you only defeated the robotic doppelganger.

The game also goes so far as to mock you for playing the game “like a beginner.” This prompts players to beat the game on higher difficulties to get the real ending.
