Fortnite has kicked off Season 4 with an ambitious crossover event that involves the heroes and villains of Marvel. While it is not the first Fortnite crossover event, this particular partnership crosses fictional universes and has also become canon in Marvel comic books. The game looks set to build on its exciting event premise by adding new challenges in week 3 which will test players. The rewards for these challenges come in the form of XP and for many, this will motivate them through difficult challenges.
The Season 4 Week 3 Challenges for Chapter 2 are varied and while some have a Marvel focus and will require Fortnite players to battle comic book foes, others will have a less super theme. All of the challenges reward players with XP and will likely lead to an ultimate end goal that incorporates Marvel characters. At the moment the Iron Man elimination challenge looks set to be the most difficult because of the shooting and dodging required, although other tasks will need patience as well as a bit of luck.
The Fortnite challenges for week 3 are listed below:
- Search 7 Chests at Steamy Stacks (25,000 XP)
- Get 3 Eliminations at Retail Row (25,000 XP)
- Collect 500 Wood from Weeping Woods (25,000 XP)
- Visit Panther’s Prowl (25,000 XP)
- Deal 250 Damage with Exploding Gas Pumps or Gas Cans (25,000 XP)
- Place 3 Fire Traps (25,000 XP)
- Eliminate Iron Man at Stark Industries (50,000 XP)
- Deal 500 Damage to Opponents at Misty Meadows (25,000 XP)
The variety of challenges include difficult tasks such as the Iron Man elimination, exploding gas pumps, and fire traps, so players should prepare themselves before undertaking them. With that said, some may argue that more difficult challenges will keep the game interesting. Conversely, quests such as Panther’s Prowl should be relatively easy as players simply need to visit the location, which is west of Misty Meadows. This week provides challenges for Fortnite fans who enjoy Marvel as well as more conventional tasks and with this in mind, this week’s offerings should be widely engaging.
Once again, Fortnite is adding plenty of content and this will please a large portion of its fanbase who want to experience elements that are not just based in the conventions of the battle royale genre. It is clear that Epic Games have a lot of ideas on how to engage audiences and this Marvel crossover seems to have given the game even more options to explore.
