Pokemon GO trainers have been having a very busy (and somewhat dramatic) late summer and early fall, so far. From tensions over hatch rates during Dragon Week to disappointment with the cost of Mega Evolutions and Mega Raid rewards, players have been very open with feedback to Niantic and luckily the company has been quick to make adjustments on at least some of those issues. Just yesterday a practically free Remote Raid Bundle was added to the game’s shop and now players can put those passes to good use by heading out and battling the latest Legendary to return to the 5-star raid spot.
Although the primary intention behind the Remote Raid bundle was to get players to give Mega Raids another chance, there’s nothing stopping players from using the passes for whatever Battle Raid is most interesting to them. With that in mind, Pokemon GO also decided to rotate the Legendary Raid boss this week, which means that Heatran is out of the picture and Cresselia will be hatched from 5-star eggs starting right now. This Legendary isn’t sticking around for very long though, so players should be quick if they want to get out and battle and catch a few of the Gen 4 Psychic-type.
Cresselia can be a pretty tough Battle Raid, but trainers who take the time to develop a strong roster and take advantage of some Friendship damage bonuses should be able to take down this boss with just a few friends if they’re careful. The raids are around until 1pm on September 18, so be sure to get to work quickly before the next rotation arrives.
It is a little strange that Cresselia is only sticking around for one week, but it’s not unheard of. Hopefully Pokemon GO has something exciting planned for the end of September to replace this legendary raid spot. At this point, the company plans to bring in Articuno to take over the 5-star spot when Cresselia leaves. As we head into the true start of fall, there will likely be some new events to celebrate the turn of the season and perhaps a shift in Battle Raid bosses to go along with that transition. More details will likely arrive later next week, just before Cresselia rotates out of the 5-star spot.
For now, Pokemon GO trainers should be able to head out into the world (or play from home) and continue catching the best Unova Pokemon in the game and getting closer to that complete Pokedex. Check back for more Pokemon GO updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
