Ever since Season 6 of Apex Legends began last month, players have been reporting on numerous issues that require fixing, be they minor bugs or game-breaking glitches, such as one that prevents players from reviving their teammates.
In some cases, though, these issues can be harmless. Recently, one player discovered one that allowed playable Legend Mirage’s decoys to fly into the air, which has no real gameplay benefit, nor does it jeopardize the game itself. But now, some fans have apparently been tormented by one issue in particular which, according to them, is in dire need of resolving. And on the surface or to anyone who doesn’t play Apex Legends, it sounds so mundane that it borders on being ridiculous. The source of players’ frustrations? A single tree.
Said tree is located on the Kings Canyon map, which has been available in Apex Legends since the very start. Throughout the game’s lifetime, the map has undergone numerous changes, but the latest changes have resulted in this one tree causing players grief due to where it’s positioned. The tree can be found in the southwest corner of the map, near the Salvage point of interest. As for why players want it removed, one player on Reddit shared a clip of them attempting to escape from a fight, only to run face first into said tree, get stuck, and get killed, even claiming that it has caused “so many tragedies.”
While this is only one example and could be assumed to be an outlier, it is apparently enough of a problem that an Apex Legends developer, who goes by the username RSPN_Absurdist, responded to assure that the tree will be removed or re-positioned in a future update. They added that it may take a little while to implement, but did say that this kind of feedback is helpful for pointing out “pain points” on the map.
Aside from regular fixes and updates, Respawn certainly has plenty of plans for Apex Legends‘ future. Work on Season 7 has most likely already started, with a new map that will be included as part of it supposedly being leaked before Season 6 even started off.
In terms of more tangible updates, the Steam and Nintendo Switch versions of the game will be releasing soon, and it is believed that they’ll be accompanied by an update that will players to carry their progression over between versions.
In the meantime, the competitive Apex Legends Summer Circuit is starting today, where players are competing over a cash pool of $500,000.
Apex Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will release on Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year.
