Many Apex Legends players are finding themselves extra-frustrated by a weird Replicator glitch that can break the game. The new crafting system introduced in Season 6 to Apex Legends includes crafting stations called Replicators, and although they haven’t been around for that long, they’re already causing some major problems.
A lot of Apex Legends players know that although the battle royale can be fun, it has its fair share of bugs and glitches, and some are worse than others. While some Apex Legends glitches are merely annoying, this Replicator bug falls into the game-breaking category as some players have noticed they’re getting stuck in the station screen and unable to craft, close the menu, or most importantly, escape the closing zones.
It can be interesting to use Apex Legends‘ Replicators to craft and upgrade items using resources all over the map, and it’s a feature that many players are having fun trying new things out with. However, for Reddit user STRADD838, the feature proved to ruin what was a ranked match by keeping them trapped as the circle shrank and killed them, and the user ended up losing twelve points thanks to this glitch.
Unfortunately, Respawn hasn’t yet responded to the thread or spoken up about a bug fix for this issue, but it may be that this isn’t widespread, as there isn’t a high volume of people complaining about this annoying Apex Legends feature yet. The issue clearly frustrated this user, but whether this issue is with this particular player’s account or device or whether the problem is on Apex Legends‘ end remains to be seen.
Thankfully, Respawn is usually pretty quick with bug fixes, although some players are unhappy with the high volume of bugs in the first place. One notable recent example of Respawn fixing an issue is the Evo Shield health controversy, which it addressed due to a high amount of criticism from the community, so it’s probable that the glitches and issues fixed the quickest are the ones players are most vocal about. Respawn often addresses these larger-scale concerns with blog posts and patch notes making it clear it has a vested interest in listening to player issues.
If the Reddit thread in response to the OP is anything to go by, some players aren’t super concerned about this issue, so it may be just a false alarm or a one-off bug. If this does become a more widespread issue, hopefully Respawn does respond quickly to player feedback and fix this bug.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version coming this fall.
